    is the outer thrust plate held in place by pins? The pins are sheared on the outside, so they are sheared even with the block i was going to pound them out, but i was afraid the pins might hold the inner washer also, and then i'd create more of a problem. so do the same pins hold the inner and...

I sent you an email Now i just noticed that on my Thust washer, there are NO Pins sticking out..it seems they are sheared off, in the block..Can i just pound out the old ones, and maybe make up a new set out of a nail or something?     The Thrust plate and the Oil Slinger look very much alike, according to the Diagrams. And i only have one item, so i am missing one of those two items 1) Can anyone describe the Difference? 2) anyone know where i can get one?

    Great, now, i get the slinger Now if you happen to have a picture of the Trust plate...is the thust plate "ingrained into the block/Crank shaft? or does it protrude ?

    Great, i am almost there. I thought the Oil Slinger was the Thrust plate. So can anyone show me what a Thrust plate looks like? Once i know that, i should be good to go

    ah, I am starting to get it. So the Oil Seal is built into the timing cover. And i found the dust seal built into the timing cover. So the only think i can't see is the Oil Slinger....is that built into teh oil seal? or does it slide on after the the gear cover is on? Thanks

    Reason I am asking....i don't intend to take the crank out, but in putting back together, i am realizing that perhaps all of the parts were not there originally! i only took off two things. So my question is, Should see the outer Thrust washer and the thrust plate on the outside of teh block...

    I've uploaded a photo of the crank diagram. can anyone tell me if the outer thrust washer and Thrust Plate can actually be seen on the outside of the block once i remove the crank gear? or is it the case that these two parts are "inside" of the block? See photo attached. thanks

    steve/anyone, Can you tell me if the outer thrush washers and thrust plates are visible? In other words, when i pull off the Crank gear, should i actually see the outer thrust washer and the Thrust plate, or is it the case that the outer thrust washer/plate lie inside of the engine blocK>

    i am on the final stages of putting the engine back together on a case VAC, as i had to replace the camshaft. A Few issues 1) When putting back the Crankshaft, the parts Diagram is showing 3 parts that appear to go on AFTER the Crank gear (vt 3225) The parts diagram shows them as T 3220/VT3373...

    When reassembling parts, my son and I noticed that the "Parts diagram" shows a VT 3220/VT3373 and VT3380 that appears to go on AFTER we put on the VT 3225 gear. However, we don't recall seeing such parts when we took it apart. So either our Case VAC is a bit different from the diagram, or...

    Great, Mike, I have both the shafts installed. I have the markings on both gears lined up. Now just because i have the cam/Crank Markings lined up does not mean i an good yet, correct? i might not be on the compression stroke yet, right? How do i do that ? Thanks Bill

    Chris, I did purchase a Service manual online, but it was very general, and stated "Remove nut, remove lifters, remove push rods" etc, nothing very specific.

    Hello all, Making progress with my sons restoring a 53 VAC. I just put in a new Camshaft. Question....do i simply get the #1 to TDC, and then simply align the marks on the cam/crank gear? Someone told me that the valves have to be aligned correctly as well, is that correct? What do i do...
