    51 JD A carb issue

You aren't leaking air around the gaskets at the mounting bolts, are you? Also, you might make sure there is not a short on your on/off switch or wire leading to voltage regulator/generator. Not an expert, but had similar problems once.

    4030 attenuator

I'm getting a leak from the top of the hydraulic attenuator of my 1974 4030. Not from the fittings, but around the edge, so I guess a seal is going bad. This is the older flat top one that can be taken apart-before the serial no. break. Can the newer ones be substituted or should I have...

    better traction than R4s

Does anyone know if they make a rear tractor tire that replaces the R4 type with a more aggressive tread? My Kubota m8200 is a very nice tractorl, but would be almost worthless if it didn't have 4wd. The rear tires are 19.4x24, the common backhoe type tire. I should have bought this tractor...

7.3 powerstroke erratic in wet weather

My 2000 F250 diesel has apprx 215k miles will just cut out at highway cruise like someone rapidly turning the key off and on. Also, when at idle, it may just die. Either at a stop or when coasting down the driveway. Seems worse when the engine has not warmed up yet. This has happened several...

    drawbar for small Kubota

Thanks for the quick replies and the pics. I will check at the local store tonight. Thanks for the reminder on the chain-my lesson on that was coming down a steep hill with a gooseneck full of cattle using one of those bale spear ball hitch combos (on a much larger tractor). The idea of that...

    drawbar for small Kubota

What is a good(easy) way to stabilize a drawbar on my small Kubota? The kids need to pull a small trailer w/a 1 7/8 ball. The drawbar is the flat bar type that attaches to the 3 pt lift arms. Does TSC or anyone carry a quick fix for this or should I try to rig something that bolts to the...

    NH 275 breaking shear bolts

How much "slop" is there in the linkage that actually operates the needles. Even with a tight needle brake there can still be movement of the needles when you hit bumpy spots in the field, bringing the plunger stop into play.

John deere 4030 hydraulic wont float

Agree w/ 8nidaho. The operators manual explains how to make this adjustment.

    4030 brake accumulator

I am removing the brake accumulator to have it rebuilt as I am immediately without brakes if the engine dies or is at low idle and loaded down. What a mess to remove! It is under the steering column (soundguard cab) and all the little oil lines on the right side have to come off to get it out...

we just shut it off to save the springs and the shaft from constantly turning.

    mechanical powertrol

The farm and auction are in northeast Missouri. April 16. Look at Thornhill Auctions of Troy, Missouri online. The late Mr and Mrs Blackmore. This item is not on the auction list, so if someone buys it beforehand it's ok.

    mechanical powertrol

I posted this in the ads, but I thought some may be curious to see it. It's the only one I've seen. It bolted to the back of our old JD A, and ran off a belt drive from the pto (used to have a chain) to use on tractors that had no power-trol lift. We later traded for a newer A and this has not...

    03 Duramax batteries discharge

Ok I think I found it. 4020 put me on to it. I found that sometimes that the ignition switch would not be completely off even when the key is removed. I don't think the shift selector was the problem, just the key switch. I noticed the little red battery icon would stay on after removing the...

    03 Duramax batteries discharge

Pulled the fuse on the OnStar and have had no problems for 2 weeks. This fuse only supplies onstar and the rear entertainment console (a factory radio tuner with headphone jacks, so no big deal.) Am keeping my fingers crossed. 4020, if the shifter is out of whack, can you still remove the...
