I have just got to ask,

World coarse grain supplies are very low. Our corn carryout number will be even lower than the summer a couple years ago when corn went to the $7 area. This crop has gotten smaller and will continue to shrink. Even with mixed economic news it seems pretty bullish but fundamentals dont mean...

    O/T Planting corn

I hooked the tractor and planter together tonight and aimed them out the driveway. If everything would happen to go perfect, I will start tomorrow afternoon. Probably wednesday morning is more likely. I looked it up and last year we were unable to start planting untill May 11. Looks like we...

    4640 Snowblower

Going to depend on what you are wanting to do with it. Here in central IL we dont get a huge amount of snow. This old lucknow blower does 90 percent of the snowblowing we do. Cleans out the barn lots, bins sites, around the cattle barns, and alot of driveways around the...

    Anybody seen billonthefarm?

I'm here sitting at the computer watching baseball tonight on espn while surfing the web after just getting home from a meeting. Things are good in central IL. Crops look good, cattle are all happy and doing well, wrigley is enjoying the nice weather too. Working on rebuilding a cattle corral...

pics from the last corn field

It has been a year of firsts and today was no different. The forecast was for a warm sunny day, it never came. With one field of corn still to plant and the weathermen saying a chance of rain on 8 of the next 10 days it was now or never. This ground was worked on saturday evening and...

hey TRAVIS M. look what your dad did today!

He laughed when I got out of the truck with the camera. We discussed pulling with something bigger but he was concerned we might pull part of the truck out and not the whole thing. That would have been bad. bill

couple of pics of the projects in the shop

It is a powershift, a late 71. I'm in IL. Bought it at a consignment auction and it must be from the south somewhere. It had no block heater, no ether assist, and it had pure water in the rear tires. I made those legs when I was working on the steering of a 720 a few years ago and they sure...

    3010 vs 2510

Well I guess it might depend what you are going to do with it. If you were going to start farming and needed a tractor to do some tillage I would say the 3010 might be your best bet. I have both and I really like the engine in the 2510. Both drive nice and work well for what I do. The 2510...

    what are you working on?

I pulled the 4520 in the shop a couple of weeks ago. Had a little weeping around the oil cooler and I found the water pump was starting to leak. Going to replace the belts and all the hoses. Got new parts to tighten up the steering. Get it back together, change engine oil and filter, change...

    1970 JD 4020 gas tractor

Nope. Something was wrong internal in the pump so my deere dealer shipped it off to the rebuilder they use and it is hung up somewhere between here and there with the holiday and things being closed and people off work. I am expecting it to be back first of the week. bill

    1970 JD 4020 gas tractor

I bought this tractor on a auction last winter thinking that it would look nice sitting next to my 3020 console gas. Nothing special about it. Didnt run too good the day of the sale. Paid 6K. Turned out to be a real solid tractor. bill

    pictures from the other day

Its a quick attach bale spear but its not a deere 158 like it says it is. Its actually a Farmhand 258A. When I repainted the tractor and loader I couldnt get Farmhand decals for it so I called up K&K and got a set for a 158. bill
