    1960 McCormick International B275

I'm looking for the Part number for the Mercedes Benz glow plugs for my tractor's engine. I put a new set of Stock glow plugs in it and they don't work. I want to sell this tractor and want to fix it up a little. It's in good shape with new tires just a couple electrical issues. Thanks.

    Power to the glow plugs

Thanks for the help everyone. I'll get back here with what I find tomorrow.

    Power to the glow plugs

You were correct about my readings. All I was showing was that I had a fully charged battery. I put one probe on the negative (-) post of the battery and , essentially, grounded to each of the plugs telling me It had a tad over 12 volts showing in the battery. It done this anywhere I could touch...

    Power to the glow plugs

As I mentioned earlier these glow plugs are new. I replaced them and wired them the same as they were before. first and second plug are connected by the wire with the big ends as are the third and forth cylinder. The second and third cylinder's plugs are connected with the jumper wire with the...

    Power to the glow plugs

There, maybe that's a tad better.

    Power to the glow plugs

It's the 144 c.i.d.four cylinder diesel. The glow plugs are wired as original, in series. Power is strongest at the front of the engine and weakest towards the rear of the engine but still above 12 volts.

    Power to the glow plugs

I have a 1960 McCormick International tractor with the diesel engine. The glow plugs quit last summer. I finally had the time to fix them and got a set. I replaced all four of them and cleaned the wires and other contacts with sandpaper and contact cleaner. Put everything back together and they...

Side mounted is later. Front mounted is earlier.

    8N serial number question

That's an "8" not a "B" in the serial number.

    8N serial number question

A friend of mine just bought an 8n. He swears it is the newer style 8n. The picture he posted shows a right side generator (Alternator in his case). I got him to send me his Serial Number: Bn4511 with a star before and after. I know the stars are significant but I can't remember how. Looks to...

1960 McCormick International B275 Glow plugs

Thanks. I'll do the voltage check. I was running out of daylight this afternoon. I cleaned the wires and contacts with a Dremel tool and a wire brush. I noticed when I was installing them that two had brass collars under the insulators and two were steel. Is this significant? I just put them...

1960 McCormick International B275 Glow plugs

Today I replaced the glow plugs in my tractor. They didn't work when I was finished. I checked my work and found nothing wrong. I had taken pictures beforehand and during the removal of the old glow plugs. The dash indicator wouldn't turn red or even get warm to the touch. The manual doesn't...

Made the 2N pull a semi out

Don't forget that somebody has to video it, make uneducated comments about the operators competency, then post the whole thing to Facebook along with his comments and any additional uneducated comments by the viewers of this video. All that instead of being constructive and helpful.

    Anybody know what this is???

Fuel shut-off knob. My '60 McCormick International B275 has one similar to that to cut fuel to the engine.
