350 cca mower battery on sale

Every year Menards has a special on my favorite 350 cca excide mower battery. They reduce the price $5 and then another $5 on rebate. I like this battery because it's maintenance free, no need to check fluid levels. Not sure if it's a AGM battery. The bouncing of a mower has doesn't splash out...

    966 slight miss?

I don"t think you"ll be able to tell until you"ve run it for a while with a load on it. All the diesels I have run better after they"ve done a little work.

    IH 300 u with TA

I have a 350 high utility that has the TA removed and everything works pretty normal. I didn"t do it myself, so I can"t tell you the details of doing it, though.

    656 utility hood

I"ve used acetone. Once it softens the paint it will take it off pretty quick. I wouldn"t use anything mechanical.

806 pto turns on sometimes while driving.

Never had that happen on mine, Dan. That's a hydraulic driven clutch pack. If it's just been rebuilt, things are likely tighter than they used to be. I would look at the linkage that turns it on and put a little more play in it.

    806 Moisture in Hydraulic/Tansmission fluid

You're right about the higher price and this 806 takes a lot of it for one change.

Axle seal leaking a bit on 300.

Probably replacing the seal isn't difficult once you have the tire/wheel off it. The problem is whether the bearing needs replaced. If that's the case, I believe you have to go inside the bull gear to pull the axle to replace the bearing. I'd raise the sucker up off the ground and see it...

    806 Moisture in Hydraulic/Tansmission fluid

I"ve always had this problem and never found an answer to preventing it. I"ll change the fluid in the hydraulics/transmission and before winter hits I have a milky fluid that gets ice crystals that plug the filter in the winter. Is there anyway to keep that condensation out of there...

    806 RD pump

Just thought I"d add this note in case someone comes up with one of these old dinosaurs with a similar problem. The bleed knob/stem I had the leak at is in good shape now. This is what I did with Pete"s expertise. At the rear of the injection pump is the primary pump Pete said I need to get...

    806 RD pump

Thanks a lot Pete. I need to get that leak stopped, but I may have to improvise. I don't trust my talents to taking that thing apart. I may just have to put a bucket under it- ha. Appreciate the help, Bob

    806 RD pump

Thanks for the responses. You guys are the best. I looked at the diagram and can see the "0" ring and all that, but I can't figure out how to get to it. I got the throttle shaft leak taken care of. I'm in over my head with a lot of this fuel injection pump stuff and didn't want to mess it...

    806 RD pump

Working some of the leaks out of this pump. This forum has been such big help in the process. I"m down to one final leak around a knob affair that sits under the pump itself to the rear of the drain plug on the fuel bowl about five inches. You can turn it about a quarter turn and it has a...

    806 Roosamaster

No this one isn't seized gimpy. Tractor runs fine. The pressure is a little low after it gets warmed up. Goes from 60# down to 30#, but still runs fine, even at full throttle. It just leaks a lot. That has gotten worse. There's something worn in the pump making it pressurize the bowl and...

    806 Roosamaster

Came up with a link from a place in Spencer, Iowa that does exchanges or repairs. http://www.spencerdiesel.com/

    806 Roosamaster

Thanks for the help. I'd rather just keep what I have and fix it. We have a diesel outfit in Atlantic, Ia that does that type of work. I got a shutoff for my RD some time ago from them. But that was just a used part from some they had dismantled. I may look for an exchange pump. Getting a...
