Shattered bendix gear
Heard a loud ?clunk? when I tried to start the 8N. When I tried again it was just spinning. Pulled out the starter which is only about 18 months old from TSC. Expected the bendix to be stuck, but it was worse, the gear on it was completely gone! My question: do I need to drain the oil...- brantbatson

Stealth 12v conversion w/ 6v generator
Thanks JMOR! I'll try that tonight. So what you're saying is for a long term solution I really should either make the switch back to all 6v or go ahead and do a true 12v conversion with an alternator?- brantbatson
