    thank you. It s just that this one has the regulator right on top of generator and there s only one wire there. It goes to starter switch terminal which is battery positive. The other wires are attached under the regulator.

    No I checked with a volt meter and the volts actually start to drop when I do that.

    I ve tryed several things. It simply doesn t charge so I took the cover off the regulator and manually pushed the contact that was open. When I do that it actually discharges. This was making me think the polarity might be backwards. How about polarizing the generator? I ve never done that...
