Case S tire sizes

I have a 1950 Case S. Looking at pictures and specs at tractor data.com, it looks to me like these all had 15 inch front wheels with a smooth wheel that looks like it might be cast iron. Mine however has 16 inch stamped steel ones with 6.00 x 16 tires. Could it have been ordered that way from factory or has someone changed them at some point. Previous owner suggests they might be factory

Yes it is possible they are original. They are listed in the parts catalog as 04055TS for a 5.50 X 16 tire. My 1943 model S has them.

Probably not factory. My 45 S has cast wheels. And
I?ve seen early ones with 15 inch pressed. Chances
are someone put on 16 inch wheels from an Allis
WD

From the factory 15" pressed steel wheels were available for early SC tractors only. The 16" pressed steel wheels were factory available for S tractors, Serial number 4505420 onward.
Yes Allis WD wheels will fit a model S, but neither Case or Allis actually made the wheels, they came from a separate provider.
All this is from my library of original case, sales, parts, and service manuals. There were a lot of factory options, and many parts on these old tractors were interchangeable and
probable often were.
