Hammer Strap issue on JD 9360RT

A neighbor had the three bolts holding his hammer strap on work loose on his 9360RT yesterday. When it came fully loose he was on an incline with the implement raised causing negative tongue pressure - the tongue immediately headed upward and took out a few hydraulic hoses and the hoses to one...

    Driverless Tractors?

Yes, the Autonomous Tractor Corporation of Fargo,ND makes both a complete no-driver tractor on tracks, diesel/eletric drive, 300+hp and also offers kits to repower existing 4wd tractors with diesel/electric drives. They use a patented laser-guidance system instead of GPS. Pretty neat machines...

544 year round cab not getting good heat

The fittings with the T are all 1/2 and the brass ones for the return are all 3/8.

544 w/QT1 Year around cab temp sensor accuracy

That picture is one of my tractors, and one of three plumbed that way. The temperature sensor tip actually reaches almost into the flow of coolant so theoretically it should not be affected much - it comes to right where the "T" intersects. In reality I would guess it reads maybe 20 degrees...

    2544 Lower Radiator Hose Heater

Got my lower radiator hose heater plumbed into my IH 2544 gasser.... Works great!

544 year round cab not getting good heat

Plumbed the new heater core in today and it heats like a banshee. I had them flowing backwards the first time but reversed them and it works great now. The output to the heater core comes out of the "tee" I installed where the temperature sensor is, and the return is in the casting where the...

544 year round cab not getting good heat

Oops...I wrote that wrong. The return is the tee in the temp sending unit line (just like in my H and IH240U), the "source" is going to be that 3/8" plug. I am thinking that the block drain / petcock would be a source not a return - am I wrong?

544 year round cab not getting good heat

I have an H and an IH 240U that use the block drain as the return for my engine tank heaters. I was going to do this with the 2544 for the cab heater but when I pulled the petcock assembly out of the block it was only a 1/4" fitting and the plug I am thinking of using instead near the lower...

544 year round cab not getting good heat

I have a 2544, the industrial version of your 544, and I am in the process of stalling heat in my cab. It was a non-cab tractor originally. I am planning on taking coolant out of the casting just above where the lower radiator hose connects and dumping it back in through a tee where the...

Tank and/or lower radiator hose heater for IH 2544

I have a Farmall H and an IH 240u both plumbed with a tee that the temp sensor is threaded into and the second outlet is a nipple with hose to a tank heater. Coolant should still flow past the sensor and make it read correctly I would think - or what am I missing? - if not my "H" gauge has been...

Tank and/or lower radiator hose heater for IH 2544

I have an IH 2544 gas hydro - which I think the industrial version of the 544 or at least is similar.... It always starts fine in the winter but I would like to put a tank or lower radiator hose heater on it just to keep it warm and not have to cold start it - it takes long enough to heat up...

I know you probably feel lower than low could possibly be...

    GVWR / CDL question

I am looking at a replacement gooseneck trailer and the one I am thinking of is 36 foot and has an 18,000 pound GVWR. I am thinking I am in CDL territory now, even with it for "farm use"? I know in Iowa if you have a gooseneck it is considered a weight-transfer trailer and they use the...
