    Gravely G 20 drive system

Hello, Here I am back with a G 20 question. I've lost the drive to both forwards and reverse. I took the clutch off on forwards and it's ok lots of lining left and nowhere close to the rivets. Some oil on it so I cleaned it all nicely. Sei it up as per spec and this video see towards the end...

Gravely G20 hydraulic lift Wallbro carb

Thanks for writing. Yes I am starting to see what you mean as about an hour or so ago, I was seeing what you mean searching the internet +a few phone calls, and finding parts discontinued. Still I'm stubborn and I work on old cars, so at times I can be patient and creative LOL.

Gravely G20 hydraulic lift Wallbro carb

Ok thanks a bunch for the links manuals and advice. No I did not have a Service manual. I now have my Gravely running better than it has in a long time. It was always a good starter and smooth idle, so I had that figured out, but it's much much better in mid and higher speed. I figure the...

Gravely G20 hydraulic lift Wallbro carb

Thank you both for the pictures and links!! So a couple of question... 1 It sounds like this motor has some sort of speed governor true? probably not adjustable.. 2 It looks like there is only one carb spring on the right side looking at the motor from the rear on your pictures on the link...

    Gravely snow blower

Hi Guys, Since my last post I was able to "tighten" the auger some more, and driving in a lower gear, and higher revs got a recent 3" snow fall under control. Now maybe I'm overthinking this, but back in the barn, engine off, and PTO off and transmission in neutral should I not be able to turn...

    Gravely snow blower

Thanks, I agree, which is why I probably need new clutch discs in order to get sufficient pressure. I looked at the one on E bay and It looks like what I would expect from the parts page, maybe a bit bigger?

    Gravely snow blower

The Reel overload clutch is not the name of a part, but of the whole mechanism. It's covered, including it's adjustment, in the operating manual for the 44"and 38" blower. Item 26 is called the plate drive (parts page) and just another word for a clutch disc. Your info calls it friction...

    Gravely snow blower

Thanks but as far as I can tell the parts you indicate are ok. I am starting to think I have badly worn discs or clutch discs. From one of the manuals there are 2, one on each inside end of the main shaft and they are called Reel overload clutch. Looks like I will run with the blower lifted high...

    Gravely snow blower

Thanks...I have the manuals. I don't know what model it is as I can't find any writings on it or I don't know were to look. I don't know the vintage other than a previous poster called it a "snow cannon". The manuals do not show adjustments, or none that I can see reading them. it's a 38" but...

Thanks, BUT I still need help on the clutch that is in the snow blower. The PTO is fine and the 2 diving clutches ae fine also.

    Gravely snow blower

Thanks, but if it was the gear then it would be grinding noise I think? Were is the clutch?

    Gravely snow blower

After many years of good service the impeller has lost it's drive in that the clutch is slipping and unless it's very light powdery snow it won't work. The large nuts at either end that supposedly help adjust the clutch don't seem to do much. Not sure were the clutch is for sure. Any ideas?
