    New Toy

Well new toy followed me home. Swapped a pair of tires and wheels that didn't fit what I had for this. Now to get it running and park next to the Super M

Re: Yet another ID this tractor thread - only have casting

Sounds more like 3500. They have axle like AP 4000 but with kingpins in spindles. 3550 looks same with inboard wet brakes.

    544 shifter

the shifter on My 544 has been really sloppy for some time now and it was real easy to get it into two gears at the same time -- always been able to wiggle it back to normal -- not today - it will shift 4th and 5th and neutral but will not slide over to catch 2 and 3 or 1rst and reverse --...

Been looking around at UTVs, found a Kubota 900 diesel. Anyone with experience with these? Thanks

    4020 rear hub bolts

Trying to loosen rear wheel hub bolts in order to remove wheel from the axle. Bolts must be rusted in tight. Have tried 3/4" breaker bar and snipe, as well and 3/4" and 1" impact. Can not get them to come loose. Heated the wedge on the inside of the wheel around the bolt threads, still no...

    Oliver 1850

Yes yours is a '66 model. My 1850 diesel is a tad newer than yours (serial # 174 804-427). The first six digits being the actual serial number and the last three is a transmision code. 427 repesents regular speed transmision (a high speed transmision was optional), therefore had a different code...

    tire pressure for 18.4-38

I've got a 4240 with 18.4-38 Goodyear Dyna Torque radials. The recommended pressure rating is 12 psi if I remember right. I am running them with 18 psi and they still look too squatty (without a load) to me. What is a safe pressure to run them with out damage? I worry as they get older they may...

    Green Acres?

Lisa was played by Zsa Zsa's sister, Eva. This has always been a common misconception about Zsa Zsa playing the part. The only part I ever remember Zsa Zsa being cast in was on the Love Boat as the bar fly wh@re.

    New Holland 654 Round Baler

The 654 is a great baler but when dealing on a used New Holland baler of this design always check the condition of the sledge gears. They are the drive gears for the rollers in the bale cradle. Replacing them is tedious work and expensive. A lot of these balers are sold / traded in when these...

    what model planter is this

Looks like what we had back in the day. 494A Deere. We had two of them, both six row. Yours has duals, ours had singles with 20 inch rims with chevron grip tires. Also your packer wheels are smooth rubber. Ours had chevron grip on them as well. Neat old planter.

NH 650 round baler bale alarm switch adjustments

Mine is different because it is a 688 which is a newer model. I just assumed they were close to identical. Even still, If the alarm is activating when the switch button is pushed by finger it has to be an issue with the timing of the cam or in your case the arm that moves during the tying cycle.

    Price of rake teeth

My local CNH dealer sells both CNH brand teeth and a generic for about 1/2 less for my 256.

NH 650 round baler bale alarm switch adjustments

Is the cam that rotates to activate the switch working properly? I worked on mine recently for the same reason as yours. The cam was stripping over the shaft. The "roller" on the switch should be in the groove of the cam when in normal or "home" position. The cam rotates and activates the alarm...

Are there any 440 I collectors out there?

I have a 440 I tractor I bought at a farm auction back in the early 90's. Never been familiar with the tractor but the little 2 cylinder "Jimmy" engine intrigued me. Back then paid $900.00. It ran though it was "wet stacking" as the GM Diesel guys call it, spitting oil drops from the exhaust. I...
