MF TO-35 Engine Rebuild Oil Pressure

Thanks Phil... good idea to check PSI w/ air. The line is copper. I will also check the old meter and line w/ the same method (should have done that first)

MF TO-35 Engine Rebuild Oil Pressure

An acquaintance rebuilt my TO-35 Continental Gas Engine after the oil pump failed. Start it up, runs great, but he says "need a new oil pressure gauge and line, probably some trash got in it." I dutifully got an after- market gauge, installed it, and 0 oil pressure. I have not run the engine...

    MF TO-35 Gas Engine Rebuild

Thanks again for the quick response. We (the retired mechanic) and I tore it down last night... sleeves/bore ok, head ok, crank needs to be turned w/ oversize bearings and we'll rebuild the oil pump.

    MF TO-35 Gas Engine Rebuild

Thanks for the quick response. I know it depends on what is found when you go into it. A retired mechanic says it will cost me anywhere from $1,400 - $2,000 beginning to end, parts & labor. Does this sound within a reasonable rage (sounded a bit high to me)?

    MF TO-35 Gas Engine Rebuild

Lost oil pressure on MF TO -35 gas. Driver kept running probably 20 min before she looked at the oil pressure gauge and bad sounds from engine. What is the going range of $ for a rebuild on a MF TO-35 gas engine? Assume crank has to be turned, rings replaced (hopefully no cylinder boring)...

    MF Model TO 35

I too have a MF TO 35.... a 1956 model with a 4cyl Continental gas engine. Mine has power steering and a dual-stage clutch. These are tough tractors and with basic maintenance hold up extremely well. Parts are readily available (check this forum's sponsor) and a surprising number of parts...

    gasoline leak

I don't have a 165, but I have a MF35TO gas. Most of the leaks I've had are due to the copper line flaring at the connection. The flaring gets tiny, almost invsible cracks if the lines are old and they are tightened (so do hydraulic lines). I also would think there would/should be an O-ring...

    Purchased a Massey Ferguson 255

I have one and if it could be killed, I would have killed it... tough tractor. It is a pretty heavy machine, especially with a loader (probably 8,000lbs, or 3636kg), so I am not surprised it took 2d gear to hold any speed in high range up a steep incline. Is it blowing much smoke? How many...

MF255 hydraulic oil filter canister stuck

The canister holding the paper hydraulic oil filter on my MF255 is stuck. Does any one have any tricks or tips before I remove it (painful) from the tractor and work on the bench? I tried an impact wrench w/ 400 ft lbs. of torque, but I am afraid if you apply too much leverage while it is...

    2805 Injector Pump Problem

Where is it leaking? If it is leaking from either the throttle control or fuel shutoff mounts, this is a relatively simple re-build.. on older CAV pumps it involved replacing 4 o-rings and the top cover gasket (about $7 in parts); I did this myself this weekend (you can see my post from last...

MF 255 Fuel Injection Pump Leak

Peltsi - Many thanks! This sounds doable.

MF 255 Fuel Injection Pump Leak

The fuel injector pump on my MF 255 (A4 236 motor - I think) is leaking diesel fuel. The leak is coming from the top of the unit and appears to be coming from mount for the throttle lever. Everything I have read says - "service by MF technicial only," and there are no procedures for...
