2805 Injector Pump Problem

We have a 2805 with a CAV rotary injection pump. It is currently leaking and in need of a rebuild. We have been told that the only way to solve the problem would be to ship it to England for a rebuild or switch to an inline pump. Switching to an inline pump would require changing all lines, injectors and the front cover along with about $3500 for USED parts. Does anyone know of someone in the USA who would rebuid this pump or sell us a good used/rebuilt one for a reasonable price?

I suggest you try other fuel injection shops. If you can't find a reputable injection service centre around your area, that can't re-kit and overhaul a CAV pump, I'd be very surprised. You certainly should not be expected to retro-fit the Bosch system to get going again.

Where is it leaking? If it is leaking from either the throttle control or fuel shutoff mounts, this is a relatively simple re-build.. on older CAV pumps it involved replacing 4 o-rings and the top cover gasket (about $7 in parts); I did this myself this weekend (you can see my post from last week). The Massey Ferguson dealer where I bought my parts said they had seen a lot of this same problem in the last few weeks... maybe the o-rings are getting brittle on a number of these with age. My understanding is that MF uses essentially the same CAV pump on many of their models.

We are in NE PA. I have my problem nearly resolved. There were 2 lip seals just inside the aluminum gear housing at the front of the pump. They were available from my local Massey dealer but I need the seal that goes between that housing and the pump itself. It is a square cut seal and it is not available from MF or my local dieesl supplier. Any ideas? Let me know how I can best contact you if you can help.
