    Massey 65 diesel starter issue

    Since it has gotten colder here in upstate NY I have to beat on the starter with a hammer to get it to go, never had a problem in warm weather....does this starter need to be oiled ..there are 4 large phillips head screws in it...do I need to to take them off to add machine oil or what?? dave

    Forgot to add I did have one guy who offerd my 3500 bucks cash on the spot for it and he said he would pick it up in an hour with his f250 and car trailer...I told him what to do with his 3500 and even if he did give me the asking price there was no way I would let him take it on that towing...
