Yer kids are ALWAYS yer kids!

My Son-in law is a Navy pilot (Super Hornets) and just got an assignment that places them in South Hampton, England for 18 months. Something they have hoped for a long time. Problem is that I inherted 2 horses and 2 big dogs...it costs $850.00 fee to bring dogs into England. I now have 7 horses...

    Direction to plant corn

Has anyone heard if it is better to plant corn north and south, or east and west? We have one field that is perfectly square, and we argue every year about which way is better.

what to do with these A' and B's

Gary, please thank your friend on behalf of all of us old tractor lovers. It's a sad time when scrap prices approach the market value of vintage equipment. Undoubtedly many tractors much more rare and valuable than your friends purchases have recently met their demise at the hands of some young...

    John Deere 60 fluids.

I remember it the other way around... New oil in the tractors, old oil in the truck... ------ dad off when he sent the case of oil for his old truck which he had left on the farm, found out grandpa put it in the tractor, and what was drained from the tractor went in the truck. LOL!

Way OT: Do you have a lot of friends?

The best way to make new friends is to take care of the ones you already have. Turn the damn TV off and just go stop by someones house. IT'S CALLED VISITING People used to visit each other, just to visit. You don't have to drink, or go anywhere, or do anything, just visit. Spend enough time...

    Resurfacing concrete

Whether you use thin set or mortar mix, soak the concrete for a few days ahead of time,it will make the bond much stronger. Thinset is portland, silica, and a latex modifier. Cement cure through "hydration", the best way to think about it is that cement is like epoxy. It doesn't "dry out", it...

OT Sorta: Ultimate Lawn Mower Engine Swap

Reminds me of that time my neighbor and me put his 340 rockwell twin into his snowmobile. It was not the stock motor, and his dad kept saying he would build a new motor mount someday. So there we were, two teenage boys in the middle of the summer, What did we do? We made a wood engine mount...

    '39 A No reverse

My '39 A #479224 will not go into reverse. It has a 4 speed gearbox. Also have a hard time finding 1st., it's like the detents don't line up with 1st. But when I push the shifter to the left for reverse it just won't budge. Any things to try before I pull the top cover?

    Crankshaft spline fix

If I had unlimited money to spend any idiot could figure out that you just take it to a machine shop and hand it to them and say fix this. Or any idiot could figure out if the splines on the crankshaft are screwed up you just buy a new one. Don't need advise from people like that. I make a...
