    Reporting back on my 8n lift repair. When I finally got my 51 8n running I hooked up a 5 foot finish mower to it and started to cut grass. After about 10 minutes the 3 point lift could not keep the mower raised with the lift disengaged. Took it back to the shop and removed r/side inspection...

    gas cap

    This morning when I went to fill the gas tank on my 51 8n there was a lot of pressure or vacume when I removed the gas cap. It is not vented and I think it should be but not sure. Checked it site and they show two caps vented and non vented. not sure what to order. help please.

    Finally got my 8n running really good. been working on it all winter, Hooked it up to my 5 foot bush hog and it handled it ok but when it was warmed up it would raise the cutter but would not keep it raised and it would drop down as long as the pto was engaged it would stay up.     The carburetor floats are set to if I remember 1/4 inch. . I think it is set ok. When I get back up to the cabin I will check the fuel line again for flow.
