    88 Row Crop part numbers

Thanks for the replies gents...but no answers to the original question of Standard Brand ignition PNs? Standard's website does not have a lookup for ag equipment. And I am suspect of NAPA's ability, or at least want to cross check it. Tractor is over an hour from nearest parts store...

    88 Row Crop part numbers

I am a Ford guy, but helping a buddy out with his 88 Row Crop. On the Fords, the Standard Ignition P/Ns are readily know. Anything like that for the 88? It has the Delco snap on distributor cap. Looking for P/N for Points, Condenser and rotor if available. What is the point gap...

    Starter won't disengage

Here are the pictures of the drive being too long. Would not upload from my phone. Ended up grinding 3/8" off the end of the drive with a bench grinder to make it the right length. I could have used the old drive as a template for length, but I did not have it anymore.

    Starter won't disengage

Must have been made in "land of never right" because it was the only one listed on the CNH site. Ground about 3/8" off the length of the teeth with a bench grinder and all is OK now. I took about a 1/8" off first and it was still too long. It would then retract, but ypu could see where...

    Starter won't disengage

OK, look at this... Drive teeth rubbing on starter housing. It is like the drive cannot extend all the way to kick back and disengage. There is only one drive for this starter, correct? Grind the end of the gear down so it has clearance (that is pretty rednecky)? [/img]

    Starter won't disengage

Last fall went to start the 861 and the drive lunched. All teeth broke off. Got a new drive from CNH and had a local starter shop but the drive on. Fast forward to today. Hit the starter and once tractor is running, you can hear the drive is still engaged. From searches, it could be...

    801 fuel tank shut off

Thanks for the awesome info guys! I was swamped at work today and surprised to see all the responses. The valve on there now is a cobbled up screw type. It looks like someone put a bold in where the screw valve should be, so dunno if I trust the internal seat is ok to rebuild. From my...

    801 fuel tank shut off

Hello! On the 861, had a problem last fall that left me wishing we had a working fuel shut off. I looked at the one on this site and from CNH. Is the one here of the same quality as the CNH one? $26 v$99. The reason I ask is I bought a replacement sediment bowl from A local auto parts...

    Sediment bowl needed

Interestingly enough, the local Auto Value store had the Tisco replacement assembly. Threads and hole were right, but the inlet wasn't as tall and I needed to been the line a bit. All sealed fine. Went to hit the starter and "crunch" and the the starter just spun. Pulled the starter and no...

    Sediment bowl needed

Thank guys! The closest TSC is 100 miles and is showing the part in stock (whole assembly and just bowl). The closest CNH is 100 miles the other way. Of course both the TSC and my local CNH have the parts, but that is at home 300 miles away... ;)

    Sediment bowl needed

Oh...and of course I have a half tank of gas with no shutoff... Have the line plugged with a hose that is holding now.

    Sediment bowl needed

So the old girl (861) had no fire. Was running, then not. Found one button on the points fell off, new points, condenser and rotor. Nice strong spark. Started up, ran and died. No restart. Pulled the plug on the bottom of the car, very little. Ahhh, says me...fuel issue. Sediment bowl...

Ford 601 rear differential gear box seal.

Yes, most likely. Pull the shaft and inspect the splines on both ends. If they look good and not twisted or worn, then take bearing carrier odd and see if the seals have worn a groove. If not, then a new bearing and seals are in order. Can get from this site. You can also get a new shaft...

    Where's my sign...

I am putting a supercharger on my Mustang Cobra. Got the initial tune loaded on the computer, fired her up, ran rich as heck. Shut it off, more fiddling fired again. Still not right. Hmmmm... Went back later, crank, crank, crank, cough sputter no run. What the heck! Leaning over the...

    Ford 841 hydraulic lift

Not to be dumb, but did someone shorten the chains limiting lift? Otherwise I would say something in the linkage under the cover is worn, broken or bent. You lift the lever which turns a shaft which eventually moves the control valve. It seems unlikely to be a piston ring leak, as it...
