Just pick up my new Ford 9N

I may be looking at the pic wrong, but it looks like there are no wires coming off the generator in your last pic. Keep an eye on your battery... Caleb

M Oil Port on Back of Head

On my M, the previous owner had removed the air cleaner assembly and the line that runs from the back of the head to the cleaner. Anybody know what size the threads are on the port in the head? I've gotten an air cleaner and the line that runs to the head, but it didn't include the...

    Liftall Fluid

Just put the liftall back into my M. I seem to remember somebody saying to put 30W oil in it... However, knowing the large difference in viscosities, has anybody had any problem putting straight UTF in their liftall? Thanks, Caleb

    9N/2N Transmission

I recently acquired a mutt tractor that I call a 1946 2N due to its engine serial number and casting code. However, it has 9N cast radiator, I-beam radius arms, etc. The interesting thing I've found is the transmission (3 speed) - there is no dipstick at all. Any ideas on this one...

    62 871 Powermaster no fire

Sounds just like my 881...half way done blue and gray paint with 4000 stickers... Will never understand why people do that. I even know of a 9N that was painted blue and gray.

    Ford 881 - What's it worth?

JES - left you a couple messages Lumpy - like above, if you find one in the same shape as mine for $1500 let me know - I will drive it...I paid more than that for this one, and it was barely functioning - guess Ohio is a bit more pricey...

    Ford 881 - What's it worth?

Thanks for everybody's opinions. Yes, the SOS will cause some to doubt it. Will post with fenders soon. Thanks again.

    Ford 881 - What's it worth?

Forgot to mention that I have the fenders - just haven't put them back on yet. True, the rear tires are probably 30-40% and cracked.

    Ford 881 - What's it worth?

After finishing the refurb on the 881 and brush-hogging a few acres to test it, I am looking to sell. Would like y'all's opinions on how much to ask. 12v Conversion New Wiring New Lights New Gauges (including Proofmeter and Cable) New Engine Gaskets, Hoses, Thermostat All New Ignition...

    Update - 801 Won't Start

Success!!! Thanks to yesterday's (and seemingly today's) tip of the day about valve adjustment, I had a lightbulb moment. When I put my valve train back together, I adjusted my valve lash like a car engine - to zero lash. Big mistake. Popped my valve cover off, adjusted the lash, after...

    801 Won't Start

Yeah, I am pretty confident in the timing, it was just the only piece that I could think of after checking for spark and fuel. May try another set of plugs and some ether next. Last night was the first hopeful sign I've had in a while. The engine actually made noise on its own. Thanks...

    801 Won't Start

TDC Compression Stroke - Pulled #1 (closest to radiator) spark plug and put finger over hole, had somebody bump the starter until I felt the compression pushing against my finger. Opened the timing window and manually rotated the engine back (ever so slightly) to see about 5*. Rotor rotates...

    801 Won't Start

All: I've been rehabbing an 801 (gas) for the past few months. Engine ran well when tear down began. Opened up the engine to check things out (did not remove rotating assembly or cam) - cylinders looked great. Now putting it back together. Got everything completely rewired (12V...
