8N fender brackets for mounting lights

Hello, My question relates to the fender bracket. It seems the bottom of it fit the same two holes used for the fender brace behind but the top hole just doesn't make it. Fenders needed work but I thought I got the contour pretty good. Don't know if I should bend the top part of the bracket...

    Considering a 1950 JD M with plow

Hello, I haven't looked too closely at it, but since it is close, I could drive it home. $2800 with two bottom plow. Is offerring $1500-$1800 easonable? I've been restoring an 8N so that is all my experience with a larger farm tractor. Any specific items/issues with an M that I should check...

Oliver 70: Engine doesn't turn over & right wheel won't spin

The brake issue is solved. I'm sorry I did not take a picture. But I looked at the linkage on the working side and compared it to the other side. I did not notice it at first. I pushed the main rod backward wth both hands and my friend was able to spin the tire. The next question is what...

Oliver 70: Engine doesn't turn over & right wheel won't spin

Thank you. Yes, that is what I thought first, so we will check the brake pedal tomorrow. Is it possible that the pedal is okay and something in the brake drum area broke? To be clear, we should put the diesel fuel down the cylinders, right and let it soak? And then for the rear jacked up...

Oliver 70: Engine doesn't turn over & right wheel won't spin

Hello, my friend has a 1941 Oliver 70. Family tractor. He has two questions hoping you guys can get us going in the right direction. 1) Engine doesn't turn over manually. Son thinks last time engine ran was 10 years ago. He's put PB blaster down the cylinders. What should he do? 2) Rear...

Rerouting or repositioning oil pressure tube at the gauge.

Thank you. There were several holes on the fenders when I fixed them up. Some I believe were for light brackets, but perhaps for a tool box as well. Maybe I'll see one at a salvage yard.

Rerouting or repositioning oil pressure tube at the gauge.

Thank you Soaked for showing what you have. That part you listed, 9N9273A as 0-50 psi is what I'm leaning toward. Thanks too for showing the adapter - I wasn't sure if I needed that or not. Appreciate your time. I'm going to take off my current gauge first before ordering, just so I see...

Rerouting or repositioning oil pressure tube at the gauge.

JMOR, now I'm thinking of just replacing the gauge. Do you know the correct part number. My 8N has a 0-80 gauge with words "oil pressure" printed. My FO-4 book says the part is FAD9273A. YT parts shows that item but without the word "oil", only the word "pressure" is printed. An old YT...

Rerouting or repositioning oil pressure tube at the gauge.

So I tried and tried today to remove that elbow and other adaptor, but they would not budge. But I could rotate the gauge almost 90 degrees and now I have the right spacing - what the straight on piece originally accomplished. My question is: will the gauge still work at this new angle or...

'49 8N front mount dist: what wires through conduit

thanks, I found it and added to the cart. I don't seem to need one for wires #3/4 but can it be used on that side too? Also, what does this bracket attach to? Maybe it would be obvious once I have it , but thought I'd ask. thank you.

'49 8N front mount dist: what wires through conduit

I forgot to explain, in case any other novice is going to do the routing through the conduit. The generator wires were sort of bundled together so pushed them first until I got to the #4 spark plug wire slot. I took the rubber boot off each end of the spark plug wire that connects to the...
