    Grain drill disc question

I looked at some of mine and it looks like they slip over a protrusion on the mount with a flat spot on it? I assume the bolt is like a plow or carraige bolt with a square head so it does not spin. Thousands of them made you would assume it was a dependable design???

    Grain drill disc question

I have wondered that myself?? I have a early 1900's "Monitor" drill and a "Moline" Drill with the same setup. Haven't looked closely but does not seem to be a way to tighten-Maybe it screws in and gets a lock nut. That old stuff seems to be well designed for the speed it was used at? Cleddy

    Manure spreader

I was hoping someone knew as I have one just like it from what I could see?? Ours was ground driven and my Dad made it PTO with a Model "T" ford rear end and my brother felt obligated to rob that off when he was working on cars. Other stuff is missing and wood is pretty much gone so can't help...

    Massey-Harris Cornpicker

I posted these pictures from 1956 on the Combine&Harvestor site and everyone identified it as Massey-Harris. Lots of interest so I thought I would re-post it here. No questions at this time but looks like a bad spot to be in. I suspose shucking corn isn't as dirty as some jobs? Cleddy

    8N hard starting finally resolved!

I am not a fan of Ballast Resister and don't quite get why they are required? (I have read why) Some other brands of tractor have a terminal on the starter and give it full Voltage when starting and then go through the resister when running which probably eases the stress on the points and coil...

    simple rattle can paint question

As others have said on the freshly painted rims the longer the better. Not sure if Rattle can paint is quicker?? An old tire man told me in any case use talcom powder (Baby Powder) to coat the inside of tire and tube where it contacts rim and it would not stick to paint. A tube stuck to paint is...

    farmall f20

I have some 24" cutoff rims on a "Regular" and they are welded wide so they fit (can they be put on the oppisite sides and fit). The rims have been around since the tractor was in use and I was told used only with a mounted cornpicker. They are wide and make the tractor hard to haul and store...

    farmall H ownership

My Grandpa got an 1940 "H" in my young lifetime (1953-1960) as I barely remember going there and My Dad said Grandpa got a new tractor and what I remember it was bright red and looked brand new (1958??) We never thought to much about it and he never used it much as he preferred the "C". We had...

    Self Propelled Corn Picker

Great to know. Is yours functional and do you use it?? We were at a Harvestor show last year and a guy was using an old pull type picker. He said if he went slow it was better but dropped about 1/2 of the corn with the better yields we have now days??cleddy

    Self Propelled Corn Picker

It is pretty well confirmed to be a Massey-Harris. Thanks for all the response. You can't tell from the picture and I did not remember that it was Red-Yellow(50-60 years ago) but making the pictures larger I can see the paint was well wore off in the feeder area and up the elevator. We didn't...

    Self Propelled Corn Picker

I was wondering what make of Corn picker this is? Date on the picture is August 1956 so I assume it was pretty new and exciting since some family members were taking it for rides. My memories of it in the late 50's or 1960's was that it was not in use anymore and parked out with other old...

    Help rebuilding aftermarket WD seat?

We have one of them seats on a WD. It is wore but still in tack and usable. I think they are Knoedler and ours came with a "c" Allis which is susposed to have a cushion. Good thing about them is no big Flat bar to straddle.Cleddy

    This Winter's Project

I have a Power Lift that probably came off a WC. Is it good for anything else? I am not sure why my Dad had it as we never had a WC. He did make a Power Lift for a Farmall Regular out of Model "T" for differental's so maybe that where the idea came from. I have old Farmalls but no WC that I can...
