Is your 4020 a side console model or did someone install a newer engine in an early tractor? I hate those little injection pumps as they are all leakers and most smoke blue at idle but they do put out good power. Tom

What size hose?? I was going to do a "Minnie" and with 2 blocks and only 1/4"NPT petcock ports to work with seemed to complicated. cleddy

It’s a newer engine it dynoed 112 AT 540 when I rebuilt the engine . I had to have a new seal put in on the shaft and they were supposed to give it a little more . The only Leak I have is around acorn nuts

1/4" NPT drains are common and the heaters work with them. Most of those heater kits come with a 5/8" hose nipple that has 1/4" Male NPT to fit the drain port. Most auto parts stores will have similar hose nipples with 1/4" and other sizes of NPT one might need to hook heaters and such up. Nothing complicated to them.

Very much like the set-up on my 4020. The first heater I had lasted for many years and when it finally quit I got a higher wattage heater as the original one took almost all day to warm it enough to start in cold weather. With the higher wattage heater it will warm up in about an hour. Works great. Good job, SV!!!

I could have stuck a pair of pliers in the plug and spread the
jaws with one hand and unscrewed the plug

GOOD to hear!

That has nearly always been my experience, and I've removed a fair number of those plugs over the years.

I stuck my 3/4 inch ratchet on that plug and braced the sledge
hammer under the extension I was looking for a fight the
weight of the ratchet handle nearly loosened it

I have to remove a similar plug to intall the factory, tank-less block heater in my 5400 loader tractor. Unfortunately, mine is on the rear of the block, pinned up against the back side of the instrument panel. Heat is probably the answer, but will be even more tender than your application. I can't get a tool on the plug directly, without tearing out the main dash console, I have tried a short piece of hex shaft with a box wrench, but not enough torque.

I wish I had an induction bolt heater...

I think the bet will be to pull the dash apart so you can heat it
and get a good angle with your wrench
