    Too many tractors

An old timer told me, "if you know how many tractors you have, then you don't have enough"

    Looking for rear rims

Look for an Unverferth dealer close to you. Unverferth still makes the deep drop center with driving lug for an H.

    Re: Looking for rear rims

For Letter size Farmalls, Unverferth still makes deep drop centers with driving lug. They will also make just about and custom configuration that you want. I would say look for a nearby Unverferth Dealer.

Farmall m front wheel bearing grease retainers

Local Case IH lists these prices: Grease retainer, Outer 60291D = $42 Grease retainer, Inner 60290DA = $455 So, yes indeed, the prices are outrageous. I have seen the inner at other places for as high as $800

    woke up another one.

Well, good on you! I'm wondering if there is anything in that tool box yet that your Dad might have put there?

    Parent bores are not round

Used red: your replys are always thoughtful and I remember that you were the first to welcome me to this forum. You are the best! BTW, just had a conversation over the phone with an "Engine Builder" in the area where the tractor is being assembled. His advice basically validated my experience...

    Parent bores are not round

]quote] /quote] I don't really disagree with anything YOU have said (basically, fix it right while it is out). I am aware of your reputation, but I have always thought you were relatively polite to me. Even so, I would think you want new people to feel respected and welcome, and would...

    Parent bores are not round

If you check out the pictures, it might indicate that I Know full well how to measure. I can include the charting, if that woulld make you feel better. I spent half of my career measuring down to millionths, so relax. Sorry, but this one just rubbed me the wrong way. This post was edited by...

    Parent bores are not round

Used RED: Thanks for that thoughtful and thorough reply. You capture my feelings exactly. I don't really think .001 per side should wreck a tractor engine, but I know it is better to have it as round as possible. Taking this detour really wrecks my schedule as I am 2600 miles away from the...

    Parent bores are not round

Blue Ribbon Service Training manual notes that rings can be replaced with satisfactory results if the out of round does not excede .0037. So there is the rub. I did not want to suffer the wait to get the engine bored and repair sleeves installed. Just wanted you guys to weigh in. I would be...

    Parent bores are not round

I am at the engine rebuilding stage of rescuing the Farmall M on which I grew up. Had the engine put thru a hot tank but it has sat for months while I tended to other things. I ran a light hone thru each cylinder to remove the hot tank residue as well as some surface rust. My (thin wall)...

    Extra Part

Growing up, my brother and I used it to stand on while refueling the gas tank since we weren't tall enough to stand on the ground.

    Farmall M Radiator Screen

Got mine from Pilot Knob and it is 5 squares per inch (0.200 pitch). Don't think you will find that at a hardware store in stock as they nearly always have 1/4 inch (0.250 pitch).
