    trailer plug

The way I remember: White = ground Brown = running lights Those two are really pretty easy to just straight up memorize. I used to have terrible trouble with the yellow and green... Until I noticed that the word YELLOW has an "L" and GREEN has an "R". Never forgot after that. :)

    Unusual welding problem

I'm really surprised no one suggested making a bracket with the same contours as the original piece and then the welds will follow the outline of the original and look like it was done on purpose.

    New Holland or Massey Ferguson?

If it were me, I would probably go with Massey Ferguson 2605 or 2615. Just a little bigger than what you said, but I think the excess horsepower would be more useful than you realize. But, my opinion. And worth every cent you paid for it.

    It's been fun... I'm out...

No, nobody hurt my feelings... I just don't have a tractor anymore and no plans on getting one... ever. Since, I spend some significant time on this site reading all the stuff you guys cuss and discuss, I'm just going to take my leave and do something different with my time. It's been fun...

Feels like I just lost my best friend...

That's the trouble... I DON'T want to get rid of it... I want to fix it and keep it until I'm too old to climb back on it... The wife (a.k.a. The Accounting Department) doesn't want to spend the money on it. I've showed her that to replace it would cost about 10k. She doesn't want to replace...

Feels like I just lost my best friend...

Maybe... I don't see how I'll profit from it though... I'm 6k into it already and the wife won't budge on putting much more than $500 into it now. And it doesn't really make any sense to have an 11k, 52 year old tractor. Bottom line: if it doesn't go to the breaking yard (or scrap yard), I'll...

Feels like I just lost my best friend...

I'm so sorry for your loss... Yes, I have a "boss"... She keeps up with all the financial stuff... The problem is, I cannot justify a tractor... We have a 1000 foot gravel driveway that I would back-blade twice a year and about 40-50 acres that I bush-hogged... But none of that was...

Feels like I just lost my best friend...

It's the rear bearing and thrust bearing/washer (not really sure which he said)... He's going to call around and see if there are any working engines around, but I doubt it... These tractors have been going to the scrap yards for years and there are very few around... Additionally, my wife...

Feels like I just lost my best friend...

Seems my little Massey 35 has spun a bearing and the thrust washer has worn a divot in the engine block... The guy I got to work on it said it would need a "new" engine... And parts/labor were going to be about $5000... I can't see putting that much MORE money into a 50 year old tractor. So...
