    I am trying to get a Massey Harris GP with the Hercules OOC engine running but I need a mag for it. Can someone tell me what mag was used and a model number?

    School Me On a Roto-Baler

    Dad said his best day ever was 2000 bales. That was in heavy hay that was raked right. I average 100 bales an hour in grass hay that i still use mine for. That is using my WD or D17. It would make for a LONG day using a tractor without live power takeoff.

    Power steering

    Power steering was optional on all D17s. Series 1 and 2 had the pump as part of the governor/distibutor assembly. Series 3 and 4 had pump mounted under the hood driven by a separate belt. My 58 has the early version.

    WD-45 engine noise

    Pull the governor ASAP and verify that pins and governor weights are secure. It maybe about ready to eat the governor weights. It easy to check and can be really bad if they break.

    I use a Zerk Zapper. www.zerkzapper.com $20 for the small one. Fill it with PB Blaster. Tap it with a hammer. It has a check valve that build pressure and holds it.     Allis Ch WD will not go forward

    I had the same problem as Eric. Rivets were gone in 1disc and loose in the other. New ones are available from agco but are $185. I just bolted them back together and it has been good ever since.

    Pumpkin planting - am I going about this right???

    I'll second DIY Dave. I have an AC 4 row snap coupler planter with hill drop. You can still find them. Lincoln Ag sells blank plates that you can cut your own slots in. With the right plate you can plant all the way from radishes to corn and pumpkins.
