I have a JD B appx '49 - hasn't run in a few years as the carb float leaks - good tires always inside not stuck - what is its real value - I see people asking $1500 or $3000 but what do they get if they actually sell? I also have the JD loader that goes on it - hydraulic lift - but manual trip...

    My (late) summer project

U WILL HAVE TO INSULATE THE FLOOR AND CEILING ALSO - we have a 5' x 5' x 6' tall basically uninsulated box that sits above our old well pressure tank - we used to keep that above freezing in south dakota with 2 250 watt bulbs - about $1.80/day at todays rates - energy efficiency is definitely...

Thoughts on Allis Chalmers 444 Baler

I got a 442 for free - I had to reweld andrefa the pickup cam foloower deal - put all new pickup follower bearings on...... after using IH balers during my childhood, having a baler that actually ties is very nice. previous owners screwed up the slip clutch on the pickup - and eliminated it -...

    806 pto clutch adjustment

I found out that my PTO clutch is slipping under heavy load the other day - How does one adjust that? the forage harvester will pull the tractor down in a heavier spot, but just before a plug the PTO will slip rather thatn than pull the tractor down further.

Say Gordo - below u said your 1st hay cutting was 2.5 your third - I am waiting for my third to finish drying - so the cut times are different, but could you send me the number of bales per cutting you got so far this year - doing a fertilizer comparison - I don't care how many acres, really...

    magnetic heater for fuel tank

Maybe try a battery warmer around the fuel filters - that may help in starting - also have heard using a hair dryer to feed warm air helps with cold starting - for cold weather running you shouldn't be using anything - how are you going to keep anything plugged in while you are driving around...

    cornstalk bales

i baled a few small square cornstalk bales - just raked them no shredder used - before feeding I run them through a silage cutter with a recutter screen (it is what I have) and fill a silage wagon - then feed them in a fenceline feeder out of the wagon - I am pretty small time - but I would say...

    Hay Trailer Ideas

neighbor has a pretty good idea in my mind - take a 4 wheel running gear (harder to back but easy to hook and unhook....) start building a hayrack by placing the two beams on the running gear, BUT instead of building a floor he puts some strong 3 or 4" pipe (he uses 9 footers) spaced every 4'...
