    Farmall 140

I Have not needed to work on the carb on my 140 but my advice is to generally stay away fro "compatible" parts unless absolutely necessary. Choose carefully. I had to do some pretty extensive work on my 140 a few years ago after it had run away and hit a tree. The aftermarket radiator...

Super A lower radiator hose ?

A few years ago I needed to do a front split to replace the radiator and some other damage after my 140 9(basically a newer Super A) ran off into a tree. I was able to replace the upper hose with the radiator in place. My advice is to ignore the third party hoses and use OEM. The upper hose ends...

    140 Newbie

Welcome! I have a newer 12 volt 140 but my wife was raised around some 6 volt Farmalls. From my understanding, the 6 volt systems need a heavier cable to the starter than newer 12 volt systems. If somebody put on a smaller cable, it can be difficult to start at times.. check the ground wire...

    Farmall 140 Serial number needed

The 140 serial number is on a plate located on the engine just below the distributor, not the bell housing.

    Farmall 140 clutch

Check the serial number of the tractor. There are 2 totally different clutches and they used a letter designation I. The serial number so you would know which one you need before splitting the tractor.

If you need to replace the upper hose be sure to get OEM only. That hose has different sizes on each end. In my experience the third party ones will not work. I gained my experience fixing my 140 after it decided to run away into a tree. Had to replace the radiator, generator, and steering...

Farmall Super A snow plow needed

You do not need 1.5 square tubing.Just 2 1.5 square pieces with a hole in the center for the rod & a piece of pipe the proper length to go between them. That is what I am using. The previous owner did the same thing but had to make one of the ends because he could not find the old one.

Farmall Super A snow plow needed

Those holes do not look very sturdy to me. I need to hunt down the photos I got from the Craiglist seller. EDIT: I found 8 more he sent me with the blade installed. I will post them later. This post was edited by CityBoy140 on 10/26/2021 at 05:12 am.

Farmall Super A snow plow needed

Make sure you get all the pieces. I have the front blade on my 140 nut not the parts to belly mount it. When front mounting there is a round shaft that goes through the square cultivator hole. Be sure to get the square spacers for both ends of the shaft. When I bought mine one was missing so...

    140 farmall

I have never taken the quick hitch off my 140. We use an2 bottom plow, belly cultivators, disk cultivator and spring cultivators. I have pinnedmupmthe front of the hitch to use our front grading blade.

We use belly cultivators and spring cultivators behind the rear wheels. It is the same setup as a Super A.

Is that hydraulic connectors front center too? That is not original.

    Farmall A

Especlially after looking at the posts here I would consider a Super A, 100, 130, or 140. Ideally get one with a Woods belly mower and whatever other implements you may want. Thesea re basically the A with hydraulics. The 140 was manufactured up until the late 1970s. We use our 140 in the...

    Farmall A

The Super A I'd different than the A. It has a slightly larger engine and hydraulics that the A does not have.
