140 farmall

(quoted from post at 21:52:41 10/08/21) 140 farmall with quick hitch. what type of rear cultivator, do you use ?

We use belly cultivators and spring cultivators behind the rear wheels. It is the same setup as a Super A.

You can use the IH rear cultivator beams and shanks that you want and leave the one point hitch mounted on the tractor. The only problem one has is that there is not much row clearance under the rear of the tractor.

We use a plow sweep shank behind each tire to plow out the tire tracks and whatever is appropriate for the occasion to actually plow the crop under the belly up front. Fast hitch will be fine until layby time if having a tall crop such as corn then it ought to be removed. The pull bar under the floorboard can be left pinned up to the floorboard for clearance.

so best to drop the quick hitch off, before putting rear cultivators on

I have never taken the quick hitch off my 140. We use an2 bottom plow, belly cultivators, disk cultivator and spring cultivators. I have pinnedmupmthe front of the hitch to use our front grading blade.
