    Utility Tractors

Have a 2640 with 145 loader that has some pretty major hydraulic issues. John Deere dealer says they'll have to split the tractor and the price could range anywhere from $5-8k. Instead of fixing it, I am thinking about trying to find another similar-sized utility tractor to swap the loader on to...

Looking for a 30 Series Production Register

I've been looking all over online for a 30 Series Production Register, but I can't find any currently for sale. Does anyone have one they'd be willing to let go of or know of someone that does? Looks like the going rate online has been in the $100-150 range, which I would be willing to spend on...

    WR-9 Flywheel Ring Gear

Yes, I have a hand crank for it - and yeah, I know they can be dangerous if you don't use it right. I had already thought about doing that or pull starting it - at least to see if I can get it running before I do anything else.

    WR-9 Flywheel Ring Gear

I've got a WR-9 that has a loose ring gear. You can move it around with your fingers with the starter removed - I'm pretty sure that it has a break in it too (Is it supposed to have a split to be able to install it?). I've been told that you can access the flywheel by removing the large plate...

    MT Hard to Steer

It was like this when I bought it. I took the top off of the steering box just to try it and it still did the same. The grease inside was plenty dirty, but I don't really know what to look for that would be wrong. I did notice that the cap on top of the steering box has a crack going through...

    MT Hard to Steer

I've got an MT that is very hard to steer, but only when turning left. It'll turn to the right fairly easy, but I can barely get it to turn to the left. It doesn't make much difference whether I'm driving or not. Anybody have an idea of what to look for? Thanks in advance for any response.

    IH Serial Number Research

I meant more as in shipping destination and special options the tractor might have had - John Deere kept a lot of records like that (that you can get through the Two-Cylinder Club), and was wondering if I could find the same info for IH tractors.

    IH Serial Number Research

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I was wondering if there was any way to research the serial numbers for IH tractors to get information on them (like you can with John Deere tractors through the Two-Cylinder Club). I've got a WD-6 and a WR-9 that I'd really like to get some info on...

    Fordson Major Rowcrop

Looking for information on a Fordson Major Rowcrop, as I recently found/purchased one. From the serial number, looks like it's a 1957, which I guess makes it a "New Major" (I'm not a Fordson guy). I've read some older responses from other forums, but I was just wanting to see if anyone else had...

    Early WD-6

They look like they must be cut-off iron wheels. They welded that band around the rim because they had a set of dual wheels for it. I've gotta go back later to get them because they were full of bees.

    Early WD-6

I posted a message a couple days ago about having bees in the bell housing of a WD-6 I just bought, but now I have another question. My tractor's serial number is 641, and from what I understand, the first serial number was 501. I don't know much about these diesels, but I was told that mine has...

    Bees in WD-6 bell housing

Yes, they are in fact bees. We've got all kinds of wasps and bees here in Texas, so you learn to know the difference. I just didn't know if there was an effective way of getting the bees out of the tractor without killing them.

    Bees in WD-6 bell housing

I brought home a WD-6 from the Texas gulf coast rice country today. I knew it had bees in it at one time, but I thought they were gone. They didn't cause any problem loading or hauling, but when I got it home, I noticed bees coming out of the bell housing. What is the best way to get rid of, or...

    JD 70 LP Standard

Here's a side view. Note that the back wheels are not what would've originally came on a 70.

    JD 70 LP Standard

As I stated before, the rear axle, operators platform, and brakes are that of a 70 standard. I originally just thought it had a different rear axle, but the back wheels are not for a 70 - they are off of a 3010 or similar. Considering all of this, I think it is pretty likely that the...
