    1970 4020D w/o rear diff lock

It would be used all around. No parade queen. Everything from pulling 4 16’s to discing, planting cultivating….subsoiler occasionally. Nothing big….i rotate corn, wheat, bean etc on approx 10-20 acres. I have a ‘68 w rear diff but used a 64 w/o for years. Only stuck it once when I hit a...

    1970 4020D w/o rear diff lock

Those were my thoughts. I figure I’ll need to spend up to $2k getting cosmetics straightened out and I’m a ltl troubled by pto (possible split) but for $9,500 I feel it’s a good investment. I might even have room to switch to a salvage wfe at that price point. Really wish it has rear diff...

    1970 4020D w/o rear diff lock

Good evening everyone! Just wanted to see what you think. I have an opportunity to buy one. Narrow front end w brand new rubber… It’s a bit rough cosmetically (it’s just under $10K) but sound mechanically aside from a continually turning pto shaft ( hoping it might be in linkage but would...

Jd 4020 How to reinstall light link arms onto rock shaft arms

Apologies Tex Jim. It is my lift link arms. The smaller bushings inside my rock shaft arms will not allow the dowels on sides of lift link adjustment housings (top of lift links) to fit back into the rock shaft arms.

Jd 4020 How to reinstall light link arms onto rock shaft arms

Good evening…..any help would be appreciated. Rockshaft arms just aren’t quite wide enough to let them (lift links) fit back in there. Do you drive out the shims, heat it, all the above…?? Thanks in advance!

By the “hitch valve” are you referring to the rear hydraulic hookups (where you’d connect hoses from implement)?

    ‘64 4020D Syncro Hydraulics

Thanks GR! I knew it was larger than my 3/8”:))……I actually hit it a cpl of times w mallet and used vice grips to turn. Screen looked fine. I strained the fluid thru filter to refill and turned the DS valve on main pump a cpl times…….steering seems a bit better. Starting to wonder if maybe...

    ‘64 4020D Syncro Hydraulics

Sorry, I tried DS and that didn’t work. I was referring to what appears to be the round access point just behind transmission filter. I assumed that was the long screen. It appears to have a larger than 3/8” Allen hole in center. Am I looking at wrong access point for screen?
