    Alternator problems on a 756

I'm having some trouble with the charing system on a 756. New alternator and regulator now. I thought I had the wiring figured out. Mended some broken connections and reattached some wires. Used the book. Thought i was right. Next after running the tractor a few hours the Alternator light...

    air in hydralic oil 756

Replaced the lip seal on short suction tube seal. Went on easy. Still have the air. What all do I need to do to get the suction tube for the filter out. I think I can get the bolt out for it. Will the long suction tube come out of the hitch pump cover?

    air in hydralic oil 756

Next time I run across the newer style filter housing I'll get that dual filter kit. I mainly use the 756 to plant and I am dragging a splitter bar behind my 7000jd planter. It would pick it up but was real slow.

    air in hydralic oil 756

I have a 756 that I put a 17 gpm pump on and am getting air in the fluid and sounds like the pump is whining or cavitating. It builds up 1500 psi on the remotes but takes 2 or 3 seconds when i hit the lever. The flowmeter reads 12 gpm at pto. At idle i think it was about 5 gpm. Over filled by...

180 mf multipower ipto aux pump or not.

The rear test port is not showing anything either. I do have a little flow without the plugs in both. The original problem was I put a new clutch in and didn't have hydraulics at all. Pulled the hydraulic lift cover to inspect. Noticed the pump looked twisted in the case and a special bolt that...

180 mf multipower ipto aux pump or not.

OK, i have searched the forums for a while longer with no success. Had the tractor all apart. Back together now. The IPTO starts slow, no pressure on a gauge at the Ipto test port on the side. Not sure about the multipower but fluid moves on through the front main bearing it looks like on the...

Maybe the choke was overlooked. If the cable is off of the lever it is easily overlooked.

    180 in the tractor lab

I just finished a double split for a clutch and to fix a couple bad bushings in the aux. pump gear drive. Fired it up to test and now I have only enough pressure to engage the IPTO but its not right. I think the fluid is escaping the IPTO clutch pack through the little holes on the outside and...

    Massey Ferguson 180 hydralic problems

UPDATE on the stripped splines. After taking it back to the clutch shop the guy there said he put the wrong hub on the clutch cover. I am way to trusting sometimes. He did fix it for me by noon the next day and I found some other stuff was messed up in the meantime. The last guy that worked on...

Anyone ever stripped the splines on a pressure plate?? I had it all apart trying to figure out whats up but everything seems fine. Any ideas. I will pull the pumps and inspect before I start the engine again. Thanks for looking.
