    4430 Neutral Safety Switch

Don't understand upper and lower. You tap the same arm you are trying to tighten. This creates a bind on the shaft so it will work itself out. Re-tighten the bolt while still holding the arm in a bind.

    4430 Neutral Safety Switch

Barely loosen the bolt on shifter arm. While pulling on the linkage end of the arm, tap the clamping end with a hammer. (Don't strike the shaft). This should bring the shaft through.

    3020 front hydraulic pump rebuild

I wouldn't order the parts since you are just experimenting. Tear the pump down first. As others mentioned you might run into more expensive parts than you want to spend.

    2510 syncro throwout bearing

Replace it unless you would rather split it later when the bearing seizes and cuts the fingers off.

Deere 4230 pistons in late 4020 block

Deere shows different numbers for piston/liner kits. Though they don't show pistons or liners separately, The rings have different part numbers as do the snap rings. I would guess the 4230 piston/liner kits would work but OH kits not because of gasket differences. A&I only offers OH kits so...

    Rusty cylinder head bolt

I use a rotary brush in a reversible drill for rusty holes. Brush rusty bolts on a bench grinder. You can run a tap after cleaning out the rust.

    Clutch plate resurfacing? 2510

Just checked A&I. Their disk is $132.14. They don't show an assembly. They show assemblies for 4020 but they are reman. I used to get new assemblies and flywheels from HyCapacity. They do show a rebuilt for $576.66 plus $75 core charge but are out.

    Clutch plate resurfacing? 2510

You can get after market pressure plate assemblies. I haven't rebuilt one for years. Parts are just too high. I guess you can get them for a 2510 also??

    JD 6030 front tire question

Surprised they lasted that long. Tire people told me years ago that three ribs were bad about splitting next to the center rib especially on larger tires. I have seen several myself and can't recall ever seeing four ribbed splitting in the tread.

    Coolant tank heaters

wore out has the right answer. Check valve location would be the difference.

    3020 diesel fails to start

You didn't say whether you were getting fuel to the injectors or not only that you loosened the lines. Assuming you are not getting fuel to the injectors but are getting fuel to the injection pump you probably have a stuck metering valve. Calls for pump removal.

    #48 loader on 2240?

You should have kept the side plates when you got rid of the loader.

    John Deere Battery Manufacture

I don't think Deere was having batteries made for them at that time. Maybe they used Delco or Prestolite branded but not sure.

    2510 rear engine seal removal

You don't have to remove the engine rear plate. As Caseboy1 one described, drill the seal and pull it. It's difficult to bruise the ring though. I made a flat hook with a 5/8 nut welded to it to be used with a slide hammer.

    2520 with 2640 engine

The owner has decided to fix the 2640. Possibly over $9000 in parts. Don't agree but I will check around tomorrow for a few used parts if I can find anything good. I just thought I might buy and scrap it but I'm better off this way.
