Tips for putting together Ford 345C sediment filter?

I have a new-to-me 345C. I cleaned out the sediment bowl and got a new gasket set for it from Missiks. I am having trouble getting it back together without something being mis-aligned and causing a leak. The only part that looks off is the gasket between the glass bowl and the metal funnel is a...

    NAA questions

Its not hard, but not easy. You have to drop the rear main, loosen the middle a bit and the front a touch. If you drop the crank too much, you damage the front seal. The rope seals can stick in place and are very friable after so much time so can disintegrate when you try to pull on them. You...

1954 NAA Vicker Vane Pump Rebuild

There are a couple seals in mine and it was leaking out into the gear drive. It helped quite a bit with loss of prime/air issues. The vanes do get old, and my pump is weak when hot. I have a TOH kit for when mine finally dies. -Dave

1954 NAA Vicker Vane Pump Rebuild

Other than the vane parts, the seals and o-rings are standard parts. Very easy rebuild. There is a diagram on the web that has all the part numbers. Mine had worn seals and worked much better with a new set. It was under $20. The vane pumps never worked that great, that is why they went to...

Other Topic: Snow Blower gear oil-Attn: TOH

It mixed to some degree, I used a tube and syringe to draw the oil off. The initial draw was pure 75-90, after I pulled off about 1/2 a cup, I started getting streaks of red, which I assume is the L3. I quit when I was getting more red than 75-90. Sound good? What happens to the...

Other Topic: Snow Blower gear oil-Attn: TOH

So I got a new snowblower. During the setup, the instructions called for checking the gear case oil. The plug is at the top of the case. I checked and did not find any several inches down, so I topped it up with 70-90 synthetic gear oil. I then realized there in the fine print was a spec. of...

    Ford Jubile

Check the fuel flow at the inlet to the carb. Sometimes the screen at the tank shutoff gets clogged. With the fuel off, remove the inlet fitting, put a can under it and open the valve. You should a good stream of fuel. -Dave

Keeping debris out of fuel filter

My NAA has a 4 year old fuel tank on it. Not the best quality (aftermarket). There was a fair amount of what looked to be plating debris in the tank when new, which I cleaned out. I guess I missed some, or it is shedding some as it jammed up the fuel valve (now wont seat or seal). Before I...

    rebuilt pump but no muscle

Vane pump (the square one)?....could be worn out...the clearance are tight and there are no new parts for them. TOH on this board sells an adaptor to use a modern pump if your vane pump is worn. -Dave
