    Thanks Dan, yes you answered my question. It’s been several years since I’ve had an 8n and I couldn’t remember if the retainer and seal could be used on my tractor or if I had to change the seal in the original retainer! I totally understand now!

    That was a question I had, can I use the putter seal in the retainer if that’s not what is in there currently? I’m not having any leak issues currently, I am just restoring the tractor. I haven’t had an 8n in a long time and some of my memories are fuzzy lol.

    Guys I’m looking for some input, I want to change the rear axle seals in my 1952 8N, and I want to order the correct ones. My tractor has the later “cats belly” axle trumpets so it would have inner and outer seals but I’m seeing more than one inner and outer seal, I’m trying to order parts...

    Hey guys, can anyone send me a picture or two of how the choke rod for the late 8n routes? My choke rod is rubbing on the block and the air cleaner and I’m sure it’s routed wrong.

    That’s how I remembered it as well. But I have an update! I got it shifting through all the ranges now. Previous owner said it never worked, I think he didn’t know how to shift it.     This is definitely the combo with the dog leg shifter and it slides in and out to select the range, I have only had two other tractors with Sherman’s and both weee high low and operated like this. Do the high range only units also allow the shifter to slide out to go back to normal?

    Guys I posted about a week ago that I bought an 8N with a Sherman high low transmission and the Sherman was stuck in High range. I got it out of high range and I can shift it between standard gears and hi only now, the range selector will only move to the hi and then neutral where I can slide...
