    Super C governor

If the "cage" is good on your thrust bearing you can get new bearing balls at your local bearing shop (Eastern Bearing Co. here in Vt.). I did and it only cost me around $5.00

    Brakes on Super A

I used an engine hoist to remove my A final drives. It worked slick as snot on a doorknob. I only wish I had a cherry picker!

    Where do you live?

Hinesburg Vermont. Up in the hills as far as I could get away from the citified liberals that have taken over and ruined my state.

Farmall Super-A transmission problem, please help

My Super A had a very loud gear lash noise in 4th gear. So loud that I was afraid it was going to come apart. I drained the trans. and dif. and the pans at the bottom. All the oil was tan with water. I refilled all with 80w-90 gear oil and it reduced the noise some but it was still to loud to...

    2 pt sickle mower

My Super A doesn't have a chain either. This is the best pic I have of mine. If you look close you can see the lever arm hooked to the rod that goes up to the hydraulic arm on the tractor. Right next to the left tire. HTH

    Super A hitch ?

    Super A hitch ?

Thanks Guys. I get it now. Does anyone have a picture that shows the part that CNKS says is missing? Maybe I can make one up if I knew what it looks like.

    Super A hitch ?

I have a question or two about the draw bar on my '48 Super A. 1) What's the purpose of the swinging bar? I mean I know that's where the ball goes but why does it swing left and right? 2) There is a series of holes in the rear mount bar. Is there a couple of pins or something I would use in...

Engine speed for a sickle bar mower

Just thought I give an update. I mowed about 5 acres of hayfield that has been fallow for 5 or 6 years, on uneven ground, here in the hills of Vermont. After 15 years of sitting outside I had a lot of freeing up, lubing and sharpening to do before I got the mower going. I ended up doing most of...

    A24 sickle bar mower lube

Thanks Old, I have both weights. I think I'll go with the 85w-140. I just wanted to make sure it was gear oil I should use.

    A24 sickle bar mower lube

I'm resealing the power head on my mower and was wondering what fluid I am supposed to use. It was filled with grease but I know that's not right. I'm thinking 90wt gear oil?

    Painting

In regard to fading, PPG makes a one step urethane they can mix in IH red that is just beautifully glossy and DOES NOT FADE. I painted a Cockshut 20 with it 5 years ago that stays outside at all times and no fading yet. It still looks like the day I painted it. I know you’re using rattle cans...

    removing cigarette lighter socket

I have changed quite a few lighters is cars over the years. I use snap ring pliers to help remove them. Use the pliers that are for an outside snap ring and put them in the hole where the lighter goes in and squeeze. That works about 50% of the time when the whole thing spins. Most have pointy...

A24 sickle bar mower installation ?

This one works from the left lift arm also. The chain you see is just hanging there, leftover and not removed after using it to drag logs for firewood before I put the mower on.
