    Old M

My old M is acting up, we were brush hogging and after a half hour it started choking. Seemed like it couldn't get gas. Had lunch went back out and it ran good for amother half hour and then it started choking again, acts like it can't get gas. Pulled the choke, didn't help. I would guess if...

    Starter for my M

I need a new starter for my M. Can I use a 6 volt starter even though it's converted to 12 volt?

    C with no spark

I am getting voltage on both coil posts when the points are closed, but none when they are open. It seems like the points need to be closed to complete the circut. Should I be getting voltage on the high coil post regardless if the points are open or closed?

    C with no spark

Frist of all thanks to everybody for responding. I'll try to respond. John T.: I am pretty sure the problem is in the grounding of the distributor, just not sure where to look. What wires do you mean? Jim: There is no spark across the points when I short them with a screw driver. What wires do...

    C with no spark

There is not a spark from the coil wire, following John T's ignition troubleshooting guide, I find that there is voltage on the output terminal when the points are closed and none when they are open, seems as if something is reversed. Where should I look?

    C won't start

Going through the annual starting of the tractors and one of my C's won't start, always an easy start. Fairly new battery spins it fine, sparkplug has spark, has compression and is getting gas. What could have happened over winter that I should check?

    starter on cub

Again thanks for the help. The ground was corroded, in all my years of working with old Farmall tractors I never saw that, in fact I didn’t think it could happen. Guess you’re never to old to learn.

    starter on cub

Thanks, I was able to just wiggle it out apart, I put it back together and it spun on the ground. Put it all back together and nothing doing. Jumper cable from the battery to the strater will get a spark. Cable to the starter won't spark unless I have a jumper cable as a ground from the...

    starter on cub

That's the cub I have. When I try and slide it out it hits the inlet elbow. I've tried twisting it every which way with no luck.

    starter on cub

I have done that but there doesn"t seem to be enough room to slide the whole starter out. Do I need to dissemble the starter and slide the drive out first?
