    Super C Fast Hitch

You may have a restriction in the bypass block thats making it drop extra slow. You may need to disassemble to clean and or repair. OR Remove the bypass block that both lines from the auxiliary control valve to the cylinder go through. It's bolted the the seat box and is located between the...

    timing

I set at TDC and then get it running. Advance distributor till it runs rough, take note of that position, turn opposite direction till it runs rough, take note of that position, go back to the middle of those two positions and tighten the set screws up. I used a lead pencil to mark places...

    SC brake pedal shaft slot

I actually believe those old IH engineers had more on the ball than the guys designing the crap of today. I suspect today's engineers are driven by the bean counters to make is cheap and last just long enough for the warranty to expire. The 2 point fast hitch is far superior to today's 3...

    O/T Tire age

Used to think that was BS. UNTIL Dad and I went to pick up his new to him motor home. Low mileage and all 8 tires replaced 7 years ago. Still looked new. Less that 5K miles per PO. No sign of weather rot. Blew 4 tires, all at different times, in the 1st 1000 miles of a 1400 mile trip...

IH Single seed planter plate ID

I have 2 hoppers and about 80 pieces including various bottoms, plates, spacers, agitators?? All have part #'s. I have scoured my FCI -1A Farmall C/SC parts manual and can find reference to the part #'s as they came in "kits". But no reference as to what part # seed plate is for what kind of...

    SC brake pedal shaft slot

I think your talking about the bull pinion shaft that the disc brake pads slip over under the heavy cast disc brake housing? IF that's the case they are for attaching planter/fertilizer drive sprockets. Pics show my Super C with C279 black land planter mounted.

    O/T:Building a house

Do your research on what the your Central Appraisal District wants for property taxes on a new house. Getting them built is relatively cheap and easy compared to paying the CAD for the rest of your life. I have rental properties. 2 mobile homes, 1998 & 1999. Taxes are about 250/yr. each. I...

What are your sources for wooden blocks??

New construction sites along the coast where they use 6x6" up through 12"x12" marine treated pilings. They build the homes up on posts 8-12' above grade. They drive them all in and then cut off all the tops to level things out.

    Source for Plow Chief points

Agri Supply has some cheap ones. Bolt and hole are one size smaller than the originals on the ones I bought.

    c disc plow

Doesn't seem to be much of a market, around Houston, for any of the mounted C equipment except for cultivators with fertilizer side dressers. I have a set of C18 skip row middle busters that have seen very little use. They are a bear to hook up, mostly too heavy for 1 guy to hook up by...

single front wheel easyer to steer than two wheel narrow?

Yes it's a 300, I think. The Serial # shows it to be a 1956 300. It has the newer 350 style fast hitch. Previous owner claims he had the motor rebuilt and used a 350 kit. Also claimed he bought it that way from the dealer. It has C169 cast into the block. I/we suspect the dealer/factory...

single front wheel easyer to steer than two wheel narrow?

Send email. No body work was needed. This was a 1 owner extremely well taken care of tractor. PO used it to plant cotton and cultivate before chemicals became wide spread. After that is pulled a planter once a year till I got it.

Please help identify these Farmall Cultivator parts

I picked these up with a Farmall SC. The configuration is not the same as my SC cultivator set up and they are not in the books I have. I suspect that they are for a SA or Cub? Thanks in advance

single front wheel easyer to steer than two wheel narrow?

I think so. I had a single front on my 350. Step on a brake and it's a zero turn tractor. Having said that I don't think either turned very hard. I swapped it out for a dual wheel narrow front to add some weight and I just flat don't like the looks of the single wheel front. I have the...

    Buy new or rebuild?

Thanks for all your help. I typically don't stress over these kind of decisions. The realization that a new truck costs more now than I pd for my 1st house back in the day really hit me. I feel old. I'm going to keep my truck and "restore it" as things wear out.
