    Ford 4000 Steering Valve Help

Can someone please help me with the steering on my new to me 4000 SU? Had perfect power steering to the right, tractor resisted turning left. I unhooked the cylinders from the arms and the valve is clearly not working when turning left. The valve on my tractor does not look factory (comparing to...

    New Ford 9600 ProjectThanks

I?ll have to get specifics on where the leak is and let you know. It will leak a five gallon pail sitting overnight. It also surges bad so I figured something is wrong with the governer

    New Ford 9600 ProjectThanks

Just got a Ford 9600 that was bought new by my wife's family. The engine was overhauled 800 hours ago after the block started leaking due to cavitation. Tractor has 5,000 total hours on it now. I plan to restore/fix it you (doesn't need much) and is exciting knowing the entire history of a...

    Deere 4230 Hydraulics jerky

Just acquired a '74 4230 syncro. The rockshaft is very jerky when raising it. Tonight I changed the fluids, hydraulic filter and cleaned the sump screen. After doing this I checked the pressure coming off the gear pump at the clutch valve housing. I did add two shims to get the pressure in...

Deere 4230 Jump out of 3rd and 4th gear

Forgot to add, the tractor is a quad range and seems to be fine in 1-2 and stays in the range.

Deere 4230 Jump out of 3rd and 4th gear

Went and looked at a 1977 4230 today with 3000 hours showing on the clock. The current owner believes the hours are accurate. Condition of the tractor overall lends itself to believing it. The tractor will jump out of 3rd and 4th gear when going down the road. It won't do it under a load...

    Deere 302p Hydraulic Help

Donny I have hooked my pressure gage up to the port you are referring to that goes to the brakes and steering- wouldn't start so that eliminates them. Batteries and cables are good. In the pump there were several broken springs but I replaced them all. In terms of the outlet valve I did...

    Deere 302p Hydraulic Help

Tim So far nothing seems to be getting warm. The SCV showed 90 degrees after 10 minutes which was the only thing close to getting warm. Makes me read TX TXJims post and wonder. I suspected the rockshaft as it will drop within five minutes after shutting it down but I don't see oil leaking...

    Deere 302p Hydraulic Help

Not going to say there isn't something wrong with the pump but I didn't get ripped off - done it myself. Everything was replaced. I think it is more likely that it finally had proper pressure and blew a seal out elsewhere in the system. It worked just fine for 20 hours after I installed it

    Deere 302p Hydraulic Help

Is there someone that could talk me through the steps to diagnose a high pressure leak on my 3020? It will no longer start unless I destroke the pump. Pump is rebuilt and making 2250 pounds at the remote. I cannot feel any lines getting warm. The service manual talks about capping lines off but...

    Need advice on 3020 steering

I'm working on my early 3020 diesel. The steering wheels do not stay in time with the steering wheel. It's always when turning left you turn the steering wheel to full left extent and the wheels will intermittently be at about half. Hold the stewing wheel and they catch up. I rebuilt the...

    Deere 3020 hydraulic pump questions

TimS could you verify what you mean by the stroke valve? I thought it was R70559 but it is no longer available. Pump will need a new shaft. Everything else looks decent. I haven't gotten the bearings off of the shaft yet so bearing condition is still an unknown. Thanks
