JD 4520 Info
Grey; The 4520 was Deeres first tractor with factory instolled turbo. With the 4620 they also put in an intercooler. I would say if it does not have an intercooler then the engine is original. HI GUYS; I have made my own hydraulic cylinder top link and have used them for the last 15 years. First on my 4020 for loading round bales on a flat bed wagon, carrying 21 square bales in stooks to feed cattle or setting the 3pt. hitch plow while plowing. 4020D light problem.
NY986, I think he has checked all the connections and all the lights go bright and dark together as the engine is speeded up or slowed down. The tractor has all new battery cables and connections. His biggest problem is loading round bales at night and has to slow the motor down next to the...- deeredriver

4020D light problem.
A good friend of mine had the lights go out on his 1966 4020 so he changed the fuse. Now when the engine is up over half throttle the lights come on very bright, but if it is idling they go out. The batteries are excellent and start the tractor every time without effort. Anyone have any ideas...- deeredriver
