    1948ish 8N

What brand and model of loader? It sounds like you are referring to the lift cylinder. What broke? The barrel of the cylinder or the rod? The rod is the part that should be chromed and will be of the smaller diameter. Can you post a photo?

    Headlight Rewiring Question

You can use 18 AWG for each run to your lights, but for sake of having a more robust harness I suggest you use 16 AWG or 14 AWG. If you use 18 AWG to your lights consider that tince twice the current will flow through the light switch. You will need a minimum of #16 AWG for the wire from...

Poll: Average cranking time on cold start?

'44 2N Front Mount 12V conversion starts on the 2nd or 3rd revolution with a bit of choke each and every time in the winter months. Mine needs a slight choke at any temperature, but starts great. I use about 1/3-1/2 throttle.

    Torque wrench

Borrow or rent a good torque wrench. If you only occassionally need one, see if a mechanic friend has one. Torque specs are important and given for good reason. I just checked craigslist locally and found many quality ones for sale.

    Overrunning PTO coupler

YES YES YES. Without this the tractor will be pushed where you do not want it to go. Into a lake or creek, over a cliff, into your brand new car. Buy it and use it.

    Hey Dunk a question?

See this photo and the next illustration. The cotter pin will not allow the rod to come out without removing the steering housing.

    what to do ?

Eagle River is beautiful. Love the Chain of Lakes. Almost bought a log home on Chain of Lakes Rd about 10 years ago. Was UP'er for four years. Please don't part your tractor out if it is rebuildable. There are a lot of people that would love to have a project.
