O/T Does anyone have different ideas?

Could you have sucked some snow into the air flow and the air filter? I did that on a F150 one winter and it wouldn't run for chit until I got it all dried out. After that it ran fine.

    Orphan Machine Tools

I can't spewak for the whole industry but, to be good on one of the cnc machine you have to know the basics of how to get a part square and true. Some things the computer can't do for you even on the new stuff.

    Sheds--- Steel vs. wood???

To help eliminate the condensation or "raining" inside the building, put a layer of house wrap on top of your purlins and under your steel sheets of the roof. This lets any condensation on the underside of the roof flow down to the outside of the building.

    OT....Property Corner Markers.......

Perhaps once the new surveys are complete, a wild game camera set up watching the stakes would be a good idea. Most places it is illegal to move a stake from a survey. Having photographic proof of him moving a surveyed stake would go a long ways. Just a thought.

    6140 water pump seal

Yep, tried MSC and Mcmaster Carr and Grainger. They have a few of the pac style mechanical seals but, only in english sizes and none that will fit my application. I can modify the case or impeller a bit but, there are limits to haw much material I can remove and still leave enough to support the...

    6140 water pump seal

Thanks CT. The outside of the cup part is 30 mm, the shaft it was on was 5/8 inch. I have gone to a 1/2 inch shaft to accept a different bearing but, that wouldn't matter in this type of seal as nothing really touches the shaft. I will have to measure the thickness to see what it is. On the...

    6140 water pump seal

The water pump gave up the ghost on the 6140 and after pricing the rebuilt ones online (including this site) and online, I decided to try and rebuild the old one. It is all good and ready to go but for the seal. I need to find a seal. I have scoured the internet and if I want 1000 or more I can...

OT - Hot water radiators in the house

I believe the old cast iron radiators are a very good efficient type of heat. Especially in that they will radiate heat a long time after the furnace has stopped running.I believe they stopped making them due to less demand because of their weight and the ease of newer baseboard installation...

    Geothermal

If you are going to keep the oil as a back up, why wouldn't coal work for you? You fire the coal good and hot before you leave in your out door furnace and you would be surprised how long it will hold a fire. I used to have a Heather coal fired Boiler with an old oil boiler as a backup where we...

2x4, I hope you get it straightened out. You will always have problems as long as you run windows (in any form), it is very susceptible to viruses and problems. There are much safer alternatives like Mac and Linux out there, Mac is expensive and Linux is free. If you end up reformatting, the HD...
