    Where does this decal go on my 420W ?

    I believe you are refering to the other "Be Careful - Stop Power Takeoff..." decal. That's the one that goes on the rockshaft. I'm not certain about the "Be Careful - Drive Tractor..." But I have seen an original Standard with it on the left fender.

    JD40

    I saw one at a show - had 24" on the rear and 13" on the front. A low rider. I know the JD 28" has the same pattern, not sure what else. 28" rims were an option on the 420T.

    JD 40 Dash panel color

    The Dash should be black. Gloss or semi-gloss black. Footrests - green like the rest of the tractor.

    MI engine ID number?

    If it's has the dip stick on the right and looks bigger, it's likely a late 420/430 block. All M's had the dip stick on the left. I don't have my parts book with me to check that number. Worth more? As a engine maybe, not on the tractor as it doesn't match. Larry
