    I don't know, I think a plug wire to the head is a bit excessive to check for spark in these old machines. They can bite pretty hard. Did you see the bright blue/white spark or was it your shipmate who shouted "We have spark - SIR"

    You all are really great!!! Blown head gasket was the only problem. A 1/2 day of cleaning and tear down, picked up a gasket kit, replaced head after it checked true. Re-torqued head today, more cleaning, new fluids, new plug wires and plugs, and got to fininsh bushhogging my 4 acres before...

    Thanks Soundguy, The question was does the PTO shaft usually have a smaller diameter section in it? Mine does. It is now back together and working so I guess it"s okay for now.
