    Ford 231

    Dont know much about the ford 231. I have seen a good clean on go for $3000 here in Central Ohio last year at auction. It looked to be a 3 cylinder diesel. Not sure of the availablity of parts, you may want to check.

    a bargin or no ?

    I did not know the steel pulleys were rare. I pick one up last year at an auction and it included a braket for the cordwood saw. I will have to check it to see what size pto it fits. Also picked up a paper pulley as well with some belts.

    Looks like you will need to pull the sectors to see if and what damage was done. If lucky you just knocked it out of time.

    I painted my 8n alternator to match the rest of the tractor. It looks great and blends in.

    finish mower and yard size

    I use a 52 8n and a 6' woods mower to mow my neighbor's 1 acre yard with no issue. I use my riding mower to to the triming.

    Rear Blade

    I got a 7 footer and I can rotate only if the blade is lifted about half way up. So I guess it depends on the blade.

    fordson f bore size and pistion clearances.

    I am in the process of restoring a early 20s fordson f. I am disassembling the engine and got the pistons removed. I measured the bore at 4.012. What should the the bore be? What is the maximun piston/ bore clearance that will allow for good compression? My feelings is I am going to have to have...

    Fordson value

    I just bought a 1920 fordson f for 2000. It was complete and all orginal but currently not running. It should not take to much to get mine running. Last owner had it running 10 years ago and it has been sitting in his garage since 1950.

    Yesterday I bought what was billed as a 1919 fordson f (all orginal and unmodified) at an estate auction. I also got a bunch of books and an orginal 1920 fordson manual.
