    OT (woods mower)

    Bought a used RM600 back in 2008 and been mowing 5 acres twice a week since using my 1948 8N. Mine is a 96 model year so it is 19 years old. I replaced the original belt last year. I have not had to do anything else with it except normal maintenance.

    will not shift into 4th gear

    I had a similar issue with my 8N on 3rd gear. I found the shifter gate on the shifter plate was worn enough to prevent the shifter engaging the gear. I found a good used shifter plate and replaced. I also kept the old one to repair when I have some spare time.

    Ultra Rare 8N Dealer Manual on Ebay...for $500 plus shipping

    I have a couple in my shed that I found in a garage sale. Maybe I should sell one or both and buy another tractor:)

    Like a drunken sailor

    I just bought a nice set of turf tires/rims and centers for by 8n mowing machine at an auction several weeks ago for $50. I just put them on last night. I have not decided if I am going to sell my ag tires or not. I may just keep them so I can put them back on that tractor if I ever sell it.

    Fordson pliers

    They seem to go higher than other fordson tools on fleebay. The screwdriver is another one that goes for more money.

    WOW! Prices!

    Guess I got a good deal at a auction last fall. Bought a pile of 5 N trac o lites headlites, 4 work lights and 3 taurus tail lamps for $2.00.

    Steering Wheel Play

    I had the same issue. I ended up replacing the sector bushing to get a tighter adjustment.

    OT - decent gas powered weed whacker

    4 stroke ryobi Bought mine in 1999 and still going strong. The only thing I have done to it was replace a fuel line last year.
