D17 power steering - governor driven pump

OK. That does happen occasionally. That nut cannot be TIGHT. Basically, you just snug it up to contain the Orings on each side of the spool. So, too tight will make the steering assist less and too loose will allow the Orings to blow out. The front support still had to be pulled to get to where...

    AC Disc Harrow Decals

I think it depends on what year it was made. They never said "200" on them anywhere that I remember. You were just supposed to know what the model was. But, the AC diamond logo was used and I think the newer it was there could have been an Allis-Chalmers decal on each side.

    Allis 7030 power director issue

I'm not familiar with that product. I'll tell you what I do know: #1. those tractors have transmission pumps that are worn out. They should be 13 GPM at 200 psi and might be only half of that GPM's. #2. The non-working 1800 RPM light on the dash could tell us some things, but no one keeps them...

    Allis 7030 power director issue

Power Director oil is the dipstick under the seat. Probably should drain the transmission (one drain plug and one cover plate) and after removing the cover plate reach in and remove the suction screen and inspect for debris on the cover plate and screen. 7.5 gallons to refill. Filter alongside...

Allis Chalmers I 40 Hydraulic front mount pump needed

I would think that could be repaired. I can see from the picture that a 190 shaft/gear isn't the same. The gear is wider on yours.

Allis Chalmers I 40 Hydraulic front mount pump needed

I'm not holding the broken shaft in my greasy hands, but how much of a stub is left ?? A really good and talented machinist could maybe deep chamfer the stub and weld on a chamfered shaft extension and grind the weld down to size couldn't he/she ??? It would require a pump teardown and then a...

Allis Chalmers I 40 Hydraulic front mount pump needed

It's a Webster brand. Probably very similar what an early 190/190XT used with those oil ports in the end plate. They used a splined shaft instead of a woodruff key tho.

Allis Chalmers I 40 Hydraulic front mount pump needed

Force America may have something that could work. Is it a single pump?? or dual section ??

If you have an owners manual there is a good schematic in it.

AC 6080 tach and battery question

That white plastic plug and the alternator should have THREE wires instead of two. I don't know what they did to the harness in that area because there is a wire not connected as I see it.

    Power beyond

I'm assuming you want a dedicated 2-spool valve for the loader itself, leaving the remote levers for the rear outlets free to operate other things, correct ??? If so, I always try to mount this additional valve to the right of the throttle between the fender and the hood. This way you have your...

    WD-45 plow

Seems to me the "CA' plow is slightly different with a shorter snap-coupler tongue and maybe the lift arm latches are a bit closer together ?? If you can lengthen the tongue, I'll bet the lift arms might work for what you are trying to do.

    Buda Forklift, 4B-153

1953 was indeed the year A-C bought the Buda company lock-stock and barrell. What month?? I don't know. The tag on that engine reflects Allis's ownership of Buda at the time that particular engine was built. The 153 is the four cylinder version of the six cylinder 230 which was used in the WD45...
