    straight pipe

    I have a dual intake/exhust manifold that I had made and put it on a 49N with chrome straight pipes out & up over the hood.Sounds "awsome".I had it made because my tractor friends have the loud green tractors.Really pretty at idle.Removed and stored it this past year.Too loud for old ears.

    Zane,I'm like you,don't trim them.I have done it though.I take a round peice of wood (about the size of a large egg) soak the rops in oil and tap easy on the wood to get the rope seal in real good.     Which finish mower to buy

    Soundguy says it best.Good ones cost$$$$. My son has a 5ft.Corola made in Italy I think. Works real well for him,medium duty.I have a Woods 6ft. finish mower that I paid 1800. about 6years back.If it stops today I'll buy another Woods.Use it on 10acres,,,constantly.

    Shimming rear axle bearings question

    Dan,when I reworked the rear,axels,breaks,etc. on my 9n I put (2) paper shems on the right side and (1)on the left side.(1) on each side was too tight and both wheels turned the same.With the 2/1 setup I have a slight bachlash but "no"side to side.No exspert.
