    Farmall B steering box question

No parts missing. Took lots of pictures taking it apart and nothing left over when assembled. Just not sure on that darn shaft and if if needs to be slid & screwed in while the wheels are turned one way or the other. Guess all I can do is take the shaft out and crank wheels one way or the...

    Farmall B steering box question

When the shaft (worm gear shaft in the gear box) is put back into the gear box thru the front (where the big cap is) do the wheels on the tractor need to be turned a certain direction? I put mine back together with the wheels straight and now the worm gear shaft (that connects to the u-joint...

    1946 Farmall B Crank

Thank you sir, I will give it a go! Guess I could machine a keyway in the crank as well for the pulley. Do you know why the cranks were made with the two different designs? Just curious! Something to put in my memory bank for future arisings!

    1946 Farmall B Crank

Rebuilding motor in a 1946 Farmall B. Took the crank pulley off, it was pressed on and had a keyway, it was on there tight, had to build a puller to get it off. Crank is shot, so got another crank but it's a little different. It has a keyway for the crank gear but no keyway for crank pulley...

Farmall B Starter Switch / Rod Position

I have been wondering, on the Farmall B, the starter switch on top of the starter can be installed facing forward or backward. This allows for the starter rod to be either pushed or pulled to start. Which direction is correct? Is it the rod to be pushed to start or pulled? My tractor didn't...

    Mechanical Reverse Raise Disc

You are correct, it did just straighten the disk up straight. I found the video on youtubes with a little better quality. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Pq0ctYlT_c

    Mechanical Reverse Raise Disc

That is probably correct. I just ran across a video on the innerweb (very short and wasn't very good quality and the camera was far away so I couldn't really tell) but the guy got to the end of his row, backed up a couple feet and the tongue pushed back and the unit seemed like it rose up...

    Mechanical Reverse Raise Disc

Does anyone have any information as far as brands / models of the old discs that raised up for transport when you reversed the tractor at the end of your row? What actually do they call them also??? Thanks

Mine actually still has a name and model plate riveted to the channel frame. I believe it is on the right side if I remember correctly.

    Tumblebug Sears Roebuck

I see! Thank you buddy! Do you know anything about the adjustment on the holes in the hitch or is it just trial an error until it works best? Didnt know if frame should be level, tilt back, tilt forward etc?? Thanks again

    Tumblebug Sears Roebuck

have. There are none with this model. They operate differently then the ones on YouTube. The sears models have a completely different design on the up front mechanism. Look at it in my picture then compare to the ones on YouTube. The sears model pivots up by the hitch the best I can tell...
