    Walker turner update

It looks like he has it lag bolted to the bench with 6 lag bolts, it should be ok! A floor model should be anchored to the floor.

Puzzled by trailer lights not working

The other trailer works fine, that rules out the truck!

Cornwell tools what's your thoughts and opinions of them?

That must be for Whitworth nuts and bolts, the size on the wrench is for the bolt size, not the head or nut. I had a couple of older Triumph motorcycles and that's the way the wrenches in the tool kit were.

    Welder question s

I did some welding once with my 180-amp AC Airco buzz box on a 30-amp breaker, but I think I kept the amperage down to about 110 and use smaller rods. I have a 5700-watt 240 V generator now, I might try it with that sometime.

Confirm that you have a good ground, the way I do it is using a jumper cable from the truck frame to the trailer frame.

Finding some thing of value that isn't yours how did you handle it? Share your stories.

I found a handgun gun laying in the dirt recently when hiking, there was a group of 3 on horseback nearby, one of the ladies had gotten of her horse to pee, and must have dropped it. she wasn't aware that she had dropped it, and her husband indicated she shouldn't be carrying, and I agree! I...

    IH 584 won’t start in cold weather…

If you can get the bottom cover off the tank heater maybe you can put a new cord on it, the original cord was probably dragging on the ground and got pulled out. You shouldn't need more than 1000 watt heater, but it depends how big a hurry you are in, we used small ones and left them plugged in...

    Forcing Grease Into Old Machinery

A friend of mine had one of those, I think he said he put diesel fuel in it and hit it with a hammer, seems like a simple solution!

    generator issue

But it should keep cranking, right? Unless it has an automatic feature to stop it if there's no fuel present.

    Help-Slushy Antifreeze

Dad used to use Zerex alcohol in the JD R back in the day, but then as soon as it got warm in the summer it would boil out, one time baleing hay we added over 5 gallons of water! then he switched to glycol ant-freeze and it was good for the rest of it's life.

    Help-Slushy Antifreeze

I see you can still buy dipstick heaters, but I doubt they're very effective. When I was young everyone used head bolt heaters on flathead engines. They now sell 300 watt magnetic heaters with thermostats in them, they wok well, but slow ,and the engine has to be steel or cast iron.

How to tackle no-start low battery (days below -20F)

I would be concerned about all the condensation under the tarp. Most logger that I knew either used propane tank heater or had hoses with quick couplers the circulate the warm coolant from their pickup through the skidder engine. Hook up the hoses, sit in the running truck and have a cup of...
