    Hey Tim. I finally checked pressures and got 180psi on the test ports and 2250 on the outlet. None of the test ports changed with doing different functions.

    4630 brake pads

    Just curious guys, I had the dealer install new brake pads on my 4630 and I dropped off the plates at their shop. They charged $900 in labor to take off the old pads and install the new ones. Does that seem a little high? They put on the new non-asbestos pads.

    You must be talking about a quad range pinion? I have a powershift and there is no snap rings. Thanks for the reply and I think I'm going to go with "measuring end play" route. Have you heard of using .080 worth of shims before? The other problem I have is no access to a 3/4" torque wrench...

    About a year ago I had the trans pump replaced on my 4430. The tractor hydraulics chattered bad and with the help from you guys and the JD dealer it was perfect afterwards (just a half second delay when I pulled the lever). They were surprised it even worked at all as bad as it looked...

    4630 serial number

    I have a 4630 with serial #11717 and according to the chart I found, its the first one of 1975. Can anyone confirm that and is there any value to that or is it just another tractor?

    They made a slurry spreader and dump wagon in red for the case and a push spreader and dump wagon in green for the battery powered 8970 John Deere. If anyone wants to see them I can dig them out and snap some pics.

    Got the herd out to clean to shed. Does anyone else have a cast lever for the hydraulics instead of flat stock? I"ve haven"t seen any others. Either its not correct or I have the wrong dash because the mounting holes don"t all line up.
