    Ford 1720 4wd

My 2001 1720 won't stay in 4 wd--If you pull on the rod to engage it will disengage after a short move--if you pull up hard it may stay engaged but then grinds--stays in better in reverse than forward- is this something that can be fixed from topside or does the tractor have to be split...

    Starting problems STX30

Would really appreciate some help with my STX 30. Will turn over some of the time, but usually requires that I spin the flywheel by hand to help it get going, or move it to a different position. Have replaced starter because it was doing the exact same thing with the old starter. I can hear...

    Charlynn Power Steering Question.

What should I run in the system for oil? We were going to put power steering fluid in it, but after further inspection, it looks more like 15-30 would be appropriate?! What do you guys think?? Has the pump mounted on the Gov housing on a Farmall M, and the resivor is directly above it inside...

TSX 597 Marvel Schebler Carb Nozzle Assembly Removal

Well, it looks as though the above VAC-14 carburetor must come off the tractor for nozzle assembly removal/cleaning. (see post below). I just hope I find something wrong inside that will cause it to idle properly. Usually these simple old carburetors are pretty forgiving. Glenn F.

    Unstyled JD A Governor Issues!

I took the throttle rod of the carb when running. I manually moved the butterfly to the open position to see what the governor did. It did really nothing. So I don't think it's the spring. Inside the governor, everything looks fine, free, and like it dhould work like it's suppose to with the...

    Governor Spring TO-30

No one seems to carry governor springs. They have compensation springs but not the one that attaches to the governor lever. I found one locally that is about the same length with a couple of more coils. Will that work? What is everyone else using? I haven't bought the one I found yet. I wanted...

    4010 turbo post

In the 4010 turbo post below, I noticed no one but me mentioned overheating when turbo kitting 4010's and 4020's. Back in the day when it was the popular thing to do, around here the topic of how to keep the 4010-4020 kitted tractors from overheating was a common coffee shop subject. What are...

    806 rims - only 4 bumps??

I had to get new tires on my '63 International 806. Now that the new tires are on the rims, and the rims and hubs are painted, I am confused about how to mount them. Specifically, the rims have two ridges (for mounting at different extensions) and each ridge has only 4 "bumps", rather than all...

    Resto-ride seat question

I am restoring a resto-ride seat for my 960. I am to the point of ordering bushings. My question is: What keeps the front bushing on the seat arm/base from coming out during use? I see no way of retaining it once it is in place. Can anyone shed light on this or maybe I am missing something...
